  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How Does One Order the Fixed lens Scarlet ?

It is because it is NOT out yet.
And we don't know yet when it will be realesed.
And, as everything at Red, it is subject to change, count on it ! (or not)

Anyway, a bit more reading of the forum and/or the Red's site could have told you those informations:sifone:

First thing you need to do is find yourself a flux capacitor that can handle 1.21 gigawatts...

If you're really anxious to get a Scarlet, I'm currently taking deposits...

Hi everybody
Im new on reduser.net forum. In fact I read posts frequently but this is my first post I wrote. I also wait for Scarlet since 2008?!!!! Only what I can read out is "subject to change". The whole story reminds me of Godot.

I mean.... can somebody say the final lunch date?

I have to apologize for my English because My native l. is croatian. Thank you for understanding

I think the RED team is delaying delivery of scarlet because Jannard is aware in which state is U.S economy and that it will collapse soon. So you can wonder will Scarlet ever be out.

bwahaha!

wait, are you serious??

thats why he is ignoring the scarlet but making huge progression on the EPIC which will probably cost $50 - 60,000 a piece on average

because of a bad economy??

go back to your goat herding job and let the grown ups worry about the economy.

Yeah. I am putting all the money I have left into my Ark. It's almost ready to launch. :yikes:

It's funny, you are making jokes with something that is around corner. I am not sure what is happening with scarlet but this thing collapse hangs in the air, are you aware of it? You live there. May be you will wish to have some goats to attend in the near future. But hey this is not doom forum..

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming... :eek:ut:

EDIT: Seriously, you are entitled to your own opinion about the economic state of the world. Best of luck with that. But to attribute motives to RED, Jim Jannard, et al in that regard is, well... what's a more polite word for stupid? Maybe, uninformed? What does that say about all the obvious progress that is being made on finalizing the Epic. I know... it's all just a big scam.

No need to be a smart arse mate, Jim himself has mentioned more than once that the economic climate is not right for a release. The scarlet might never see the light of day, meanwhile another country is producing and selling millions of cameras in it's place.
I would not be surprised if the US economy goes into freefall very soon, who the hell is going to lend you more money to dig yourselves out of the shit you are in right now?
I hope the goat herders will be laughing the most when that happens.

Yep. Really hard to argue with that.

I am sure that Jim is holding back on the release of Scarlet because our economy can't absorb a few thousand cameras. I guess we'll see, won't we. :scared:

I think Hernan was referring to the 2012 apocalypse, rather than any economic recession.

I missed that movie. Was it any good? :biggrin5:

I was planning on watching it on DVD. Assuming, of course it comes out before 2012 when it will be too late.

Oh dear, I am not sure what's going on here. Not sure where Australia entered into this discussion. What about Japan, their debt is double their GDP? It's an age of debt.

Also, Chris, you have got the figures completely confused. Australia has a far lesser debt per citizen. It doesn't matter what the overall GDP is - Australia has a far lesser population. The GDP per capita is not much different. In short, an average American's debt is some 4 times more than an average Australian's debt, relative to their income, end of story.

Back to the topic, it is likely that the recession has affected RED indirectly. They have several partners who manufacture components for them, and it is more than likely at least a few of them have been affected by the recession. I don't know the exact extent, though.

It makes sense that the Scarlet sales will be affected more by the recession than Epic. Epic is something the film industries would want. And we have evidence that the recession hasn't affected the film industries. Scarlet, however, is more for the individual, the independent artist, or the aspiring filmmaker. These people are much more likely to be affected by the recession. I don't think Red is deliberately delaying Scarlet because of this, though. It will be out when its ready.
