I have Samsung U28D590P 4K monitor and Windows 7 with text scale 200%. So everything is sharp and text is normal size.

I would like to play ProRes video clips on my PC, it seems that only Quicktime can handle smooth playback. But player doesn't look adjusted to 4K resolution. Text in the program and the played doesn't look sharp. In VLC I have picture like it should be, but it laggs like 1fps.

Is there anything I could do to have smooth playback or sharp Quicktime player?

Thanks

What "type" of 4K ProRes file. You need a good system for 4K ProRes 4444 and higher playback. 422 HQ is much easier to handle. You can grab a codec pack for Windows Media Player and oddly I find that has the best performance.

I am using Miraizon prores HQ export with Premiere.
I also have files in prores HQ from Mac. I would like to play those.

Can you please share some more info about codec pack for WMP?

*EDIT: found a codec pack and now WMP is playing 4K prores HQ smooth form my SSD.
Thanks
