Hot Swapping Lens with LDS?

Hey guys,

Just recently acquired a set of Cooke mini s4's and was wondering about the following question:

Since the lens have electronic contacts that connect to the electronics in the Red PL mount to get Lens data and focus info - is it safe to do a hot swap (changing lenses while the camera is powered on)?

My heart says no, and I'm just wondering if this is safe to do because I don't want to burn anything out.

Hot swapping of Cooke S4/i protocol lenses on the RED PL mount is supported. Since the title mentions LDS, the RED PL mount DOES NOT however support the LDS protocol. You can use an LDS lens on the PL mount, but no metadata will be available.

What you absolutely do not want to do is hot swap the mount itself.
