I'm getting some horizontal lines in some of my clips. It will last about a frame and then disappear. It happens on some clips but not all. Any idea what this is?

Uh oh, thats no good...

I'm sure someone will have some input on this.

I remember having some weird artifacts when my Epic was new, but it only showed up in redcine-x. Have you tried open it in different apps?
meaning it could be software and not the clip.
Looks a bit like a sensor problem though.
PS I see you hav a Raven 2 serial numbers after mine

Where and when are you seeing this? On your RED monitor? While recording? Or just during playback? Or in post? Please provide a little more info, settings and a screen shot if possible.

EDIT: my Internet here in Greece didnt load the image. I see it now.

So you say it's not present in the R3D file in RCXpro?

I have shot on DSLRs, BM's and RED's and they will all be fine until they are rendered out on my trashcan. FCPx, Resolve, PPcc, Media Encoder doesn't matter. I get weird, single frame, lines mostly blue throughout the footage. A P-Ram reset usually solves the problem and allows me to to get one file rendered cleanly.

What is your edit Bay hardware? Are you on a MacPro trashcan? I have very similar problems when rendering out on my trashcan. Faulty GPU.

Get it replaced by Apple. They can fight you on it but push and show them all the threads about Resolve issues and whatever and they eventually cave. Worked for me and a few guys I know who had the same problem. Got a flawless machine now, never had an issue.

My bet, trashcan broken graphics pipe. Talk to your apple dealer and they will replace the GPU´s its a known problem with the graphics of the trashcan.

If you are not on that computer then... I don't know what it is but my machine does the same.

I did some testing and found that the horizontal line actually appears when I do playback on the camera. So I think we can rule out my computer. I did a reinstall of the firmware and black shade but still get this random line. Again the line will appear so random... Like 5 clips will be fine and then the sixth one will have this line that lasts no kore than a frame. I've sent Red a log file. I'm guessing it's something wrong with my girl's sensor, so she may have to make a trip back to Cali.

I've sent back 2 trash and in one week...the first had the D700 cards, next the D500 cards. Working with Premiere and the MacPro was a fucking nightmare. $6500 and had to send it back. Called AMD, they said it was something Apple was doing, Apple blamed Adobe, etc...I'm thinking about getting a computer from Puget Sydtems...

Yeah Red contacted me and said from the log that I sent that the camera was reporting some hardware errors, so it's being sent back for evaluation by the engineers.

Glad they are gonna fix it for you, hopfully quick turn around time.

Yeah I hope for a quick turnaround as well, but so far the Red Team has been super awesome and very helpful. I'm impressed with their customer service!!!
