  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hinsense 55 UHD display.

I just posted a UHD Version of Moonset on Vimeo if anyone needs a short clip for testing.

This is a pretty fundamental, and maybe silly, question, but: If I purchase this Hisense display and a Redray Player, can I watch my 4K content?

Yea, but it only supports 30hz refresh rate I believe. I'm looking at getting the Seiki 50" with REDRAY

So now there is a $500 instant rebate on this at Costco; net $1499. I'd be giddy about this except there seems to be something "wrong" with all of these new 4K displays. What specs should I be looking for?

Go with the Seiki 50". Cheaper and I think looks better. I've compared both panels. On Sears.com the 50" was at $699 the last time I looked. Not a bad set for the price. Yea it's only 30hz, as all are due to HDMI 1.4 limitations, but it's 4-freaking-k! :-)

So, I am moving in about 3-4 weeks and will want a new TV for my new location. Will I want to jump into one of these sets or wait just a bit longer for something more advanced and/or less expensive for what it is?

Ah - technology. Hmmmm.
