Increase the price of this High Speed Raven to cover the better internals.

I`m sure RED must have this on the workbench. It would make sense.

From what Jarred has said before, the Dragon sensor is, I believe, not designed to handle extremely high frame rates.

This would presumably be a feature that would need to be implemented into a new sensor design. What the tradeoffs are for that, I don't know!

There's 100% interest for sure. I personally would like to see RED achieve 2X to 5X increase in frame rates. Which could be at 4K something between 240-600fps. At 8K that could be 120-300fps.

The difficulty with this at the moment is current sensor tech, how it's implemented, bandwidth, etc.... At the moment it would be one pricey camera to pull off.

No. Dragon in the way it's implemented top to bottom is at it's max right now with Epic and Raven max frame rates.

The 2X-6X speeds I am describing is based on potential use of state of the art hardware that at the moment isn't implemented in any camera. Some of it is a major processing overhauls, some of it would be BIG pipes internally, some of it could mean faster media, etc......

Sticking to 4K would be nice, but this would likely be a top tier camera if it ever got made and I would think RED would allow for higher resolution filming through the potentially new sensor design that would take us there.

If you are hoping for a low cost high speed 4K camera that can do 500-1000fps I just don't know how "real" that concept could be right now. The Phantom Flex4K is above the $100K mark for a variety of reasons.

Jarred has suggested RED cannot get much more FPS out of Dragon than currently avail. I dont see 600fps @ 4K on Dragon ever happening, unfortunately...

We aren't talking about cars in this case. That engine still produces the same horsepower and RPM, which is a bit more of the analogy.

There's ways to do it. There's interest in it. The cost to do it "right" is one factor. There's other factors as well.

I've been waiting for such a camera from RED for a long time, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to be cheap. Just not happening. If Phantom 4K is over 100K than RED making a similar specd camera for say 60K will already be a revolution on this market.

I was really hoping that even slightly more FPS would be a feature of Weapon. I have decided to hold off on the Weapon upgrade. It really looks liked a great camera. But does not offer me anything that I would use above my epic except for the lower compression. Thinking about Ravin it also really looks like a lot of camera for your $$$$. Which other camera offers 120fps 4k raw.????? From what has been said on this forum I don't think it is possible for Red to squeez more FPS out of dragon. Even out of the 4k format otherwise they certainally would have offered it in the high horse power Weapon CF.
