Does anyone know if the HDMI port will be enabled on the Scarlet when they start shipping? I know that the port wasn't active yet on the Epic as of last month.

Also- if it is enabled, will it be able to display VF information to a monitor or EVF?

Also, if I only have the DSMC Side Hanlde, could I brwose through the camera's menus with a HDMI monitor, like the SMALLHD DP4 or DP6? Or do I need a REDMOTE or Bomb EVF?

Its enabled on the beta build of 1.7.9. RED said that playback will in in 2.0. They also said that this build will be released before Scarlet ships. One could assume that HDMI wilil be enabled when Scarlet ships. Of course, they could always disable in 2.0, if they have too many issues with HDMI.

Yes, if you have a side handle, you can navigate the menu system w/o the redmote or touch LCD. Once you start using the touch LCD, its difficult to not use it. :)

I understand the 5" touch screen navigation might be cool, but I'm more interesting in focusing correctly outdoors, and since I already have the SmallHD DP6 screen I thought I would use it. Thanks for the clarification.

I noticed my HDMI splitter doesn't accept the signal. Is this a known issue?
