Hi,

I read here...I forgot where...too many threads...but one RED owners stated that you couldn't focus when using HDMI monitor? Is that correct?

I know the RED LCD you can focus even though its only 720p but has the 2x zoom function. Doesn't that work with the HDMI too? I understand you don't have the interface control using HDMI unless you have the RED LCD or EVF but I can live with that...I think.

Thanks. Just clarifying.

cheers...

Yes it works just the same.

I am using an HDMI monitor setup right now on a feature. It works just fine. We are on a Samsung Syncmaster. The only downside is if you have both EVF and an LCD on the camera, you have no menus or camera info displayed on your HDMI monitor. That's pretty easy to get over though.

Hey,

You mean if I use both the (EVF & RED LCD) it cancells the HDMI's meun and info display capableities...is that correct? that's strange...

Thanks.

Yep, that's correct. But unplugging either the LCD or EVF will (if you still have the HDMI out set as menu and not 720 output) cause the other information to display immediately, and you can simply hot-unplug-and-plug if that's important.

Shame...

Shame...

That's a shame. I just thought if the HDMI monitor would be for the director or script supervisor so he/she would be able to see the frame lines or TC while shooting to take notes.

Thanks.

HDMI with graphics.

HDMI with graphics.

Well it can be if you use just one of the EVF or LCD, but not if you use both.

We you can see those GUI items on the HD-SDI / HDMI outputs if you use one of RED-EVF or RED-LCD but not when you use both. If you do use both, then the TC and Clip Name are available on the camera's rear status display.

Which one to use???

Thanks Sturart for the clarifation. Okay...now, I just have to debate which one not to use??? Ha ha...!!!

Will this be avaiable possibly in the next or future builds? Like 17 or 18...?

Curious...

Is this problem/issue/aspect solved in Build 16 or possibly any future builds?

Ok, sorry, I am editing this reply because i only half read the reply above mine, last time i do that... :)
