Hi,

I wanted to use a REDmote to control the camera and a DP6 via HD-SDI as on camera monitor showing the menus. For the AC and other people, I wanted to send the clean HDMI feed via transmitter to other HDMI monitors. There would be no RED monitor or EVF attached to the camera.

In an other thread, it was mentioned that the Scarlet can't output via HD-SDI and HDMI an the same time. Can someone confirm this? Will it be enabled in a future firmware update?

Thanks
David

That is correct, only one output at the time...
There will however be an "pro I/O module that does give you more output options. It's in the making but not available so far.

BlackMagic and several others make compact HD-SDI and HDMI Splitters and Converters that would probably work out for your desired application. Google it and you will see plenty of options. We used a BlackMagic HD-SDI to HDMI converter and then an HDMI splitter for a similar studio application for client viewing with good results. We came out of a Sony EX3 HD-SDI to the converter, then split for our on-camera Marshall 7" monitor and then on to a 46" Client monitor.

It is definitley cool for the client to see the shoot on a big screen and especially nice not to have them right over your shoulder trying to view the 7" on camera monitor :-) Good Luck!

Hopefully a dumb question, but ... I can use the HDMI clean feed if I'm using the RED TOUCH 5.0" LCD for menus?

Thanks!
