FWIW, Curt is a good guy who got in over his head. That said, he should have cleaned up all the dead deposits by now.
In my case, I went to the VF shop a couple of years back and Curt gave me about $700 worth of bits and bobs for my Epic. Curt also showed me the current prototype WFF at that time, and seemed to genuinely believe it was close to being a shipping product. He claimed he would send me one once they were ready. Of course it's been over 2 or 3 years since then...
I have no idea what ViewFactor's current status is, but if they could afford to reconcile with those of us who put $2,000 on the table in April 2008... it just might restore their reputation to a degree and make new customers comfortable ordering things they can deliver.
I'd be curious to know how many people VF still owes.
On a side note, the other frustrating piece is that I put off getting a Preston/Bartech/C-Motion wireless FF rig thinking eventually I'd get the VF one. So I've been burning cash on rentals all this time.
