Just stumbled across this today -

http://www.viewfactor.net/products/epic-scarlet-acc/capio-apu-style.html

Havent seen anyone else talking about this.
Goes on the back of the camera and looks like you can attach a Vlock plate right to the back of it !

Any thoughts on this ? Thinking about picking one up possibly to replace our rather homemade option to get V-locks with the RedLink.

I would think OffHollywoods Hotlink would be more useful and be much smaller.

Possible, I have it here. But it does go into the CTRL port (which is a bit crowded over here) instead of the network port.
Dunno where this lands, as it doesn't go into any of them... :)

I kinda like the general design idea, though (without going into functionality). Without wires and possible to mount something else behind it.

I wish VF would announce a module that refunds all of us for the wireless FF system and MoCo that were never delivered...

I have the Capio and works just as well as the other WiFi solutions available. Both Fool Control and Red Link apps work fine with the Capio.

It is nice because there are no cables and the APU battery plate can mount directly to it.

That is still not addressed?
They must have made a penny or two on the top- and bottom-plates alone when Epic was launched.

I was a coincidence away for paying for the FF back in the day....

Yeah, a bit surprised by this.

If the VF-FF situation is as blatant as it seems (I don't know the details), I wonder how many people they actually ripped off? <sarcasm>It's great when companies don't have accountability, and still manage to stay in business!</sarcasm> ...I was even looking for one of their ProIO top plates (because it's the same thickness as my camera top plate), but I'm definitely not going to buy new.

As for the Capio; while a step in the right direction, it's still not a bulletproof solution as it doesn't work with modules (XL, ProIO, etc.)... REDLink should have been built into a module adapter-sized module that could allow modules to work *after* it.... Or, at the very least, RED should not have prevented 3rd party manufacturers for using their "Latch and Groove" quick release system and module passthrough (for a company that considers themselves forward thinking, sometimes they have very little foresight.)

Will this work with reds hand focus controller like the redlink?

FF deposit money issue is not resolved. Some effort was made to offer other product in lieu of refunds, but even that was limited. Some people did get refunds a while back, many, including myself, did not.

VF will never hear the end of this from me (and a handful of others on these and other forums) until they make good on their commitments.

Really wow, thats terrible to hear about those FF's.

I have never bought anything from VF but was always tempted but WC bits and bobs always seemed mroe affordable and easier to get hold of.
This is our current solution for using the RedLink and a Vlock battery.

We dont have the hotlink because I ordered the RedLink on day one that it was announced and have just been using this ever since. (loving every moment of it) Always get tonnes of questions about FoolControl and how we control the camera - couple with with Wireless video and people are usually blown away.

What I like about the VF one is that it keeps the camera nice an compact - no need for cables and we could easily mount our battery pack on the back.
Which would look much better than our current setup. Might wait to see what other people think.

But equally the OffHollywood OMOD looks pretty great too - but thats a different price range!

I am in the same boat as you. Never got my money back and never got a working WFF system. I have one, but it really doesn't work wirelessly, only in wired mode. Yeah, would either like to get my money back or get a working system.

At least you were one of the very few that got a FF system. Most of us just have a piece of paper that thanks us for paying the deposit. Last I heard, like Curran, is that they were about to have new motors and such and would begin shipments. Then nothing for a bit. Then the next story was that they no longer had documentation of who had paid deposits and when and who had taken refunds and all that. They tried to make some bullshit statement about how they felt the matter was closed. Any further attempts at communication with them have resulted in nothing but silence from VF. Some of us looked into legal action and it still may come to that before the statute of limitations runs out. But it has to be a class action attempt and the previous times digging into it haven't turned up much other than VF being in debt and leasing everything they have. In other words, the likelihood of getting the money back was absolute zero previously. As they keep trying to build a company and hopefully gain some ground, there might be some meat to sink some teeth into. Anyway, that's probably too much thinking out loud on that subject....

FWIW, ViewFactor hasn't had a booth at NAB since 2008. It would take some pretty big brass cajones for them to set one up now. There's a couple dozen regular NAB attendees just like me who are looking for their refunds.

Well I certainly wont be purchasing anything from VF then.

8 mystery motors in stock... No FF system available or in sight... I just want my money back. I'm still trying to figure out how these cockbags are still around.
