  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Has anyone recieved the microMatteBox for Red One?

Brian and RedRock have always come through... sometimes a little later than expected, but they've always come through. They embody the same spirit that Red does - getting the right tools in the hands of the average joe. I remember when that Sony rep promised... oops, that's right - they don't engage their customers... I remember when that Panasonic exec... sorry, same thing. I was talking to the president of Arri the other day... oops, that was just a dream... These forums are a blessing and a curse and the big boys aren't interested. We're fortunate that Brian and Jim are.

Believe me, we are about as happy on delays as you are. Our next product release will be public when it's available in quantities on our shelves and ready to ship.

Well, photos of the proto have been leaked so denying it exists. I don't have any eta that we want to make public at this time, and from some posts on this thread you might see why ;)

Since you already have a working FF, I thought creating 19mm support would be less hassle task and quick job, to add "ready to ship" status to your product line.

Arri still can't decide on a name (I know, I guess it's a German thing...) but we should have them in two or three weeks.

We have a number of these matteboxes in stock at Abel. Never even thought of them for you guys to use. We could probably make a bit of a deal on them to get them off the shelves.

I don't mean to fan the flames, but I just checked the shipping schedule. Did they delay the dates again?

Yep - shipments happening this week. We are going to send out some info on tips and tutorials shortly for the microMatteBox.

I don't know if I'm supposed to pass this along, but Finner already has some of his own setup tips at finnerknowsbest.com under videos (scroll to the bottom)

Hi Brian,
Is the wait still about 40 work days from day of payment, and if I ordered the filter pack and hardcase at the same time, I imagine it'll arrive as one big present?! :>)

At the moment yes, we are still quoting 40 days for new orders. We are shipping on backorders right now, so once everyone gets their microMatteBox we will start shipping new orders (in the order we receive them of course).

Thanks man! I'm stoked! It'll arrive before my camera, a bit like buying the crib before the baby's due. Oh yea, I've gotta think of a name!... Happy times indeed!
 
I got encouraging email from Redrock Micro today. I hated seeing them in the whipping chair.
