Not really that new. Just wondering if Jarred actually said somewhere that Epic with Dragon sensor was going to be called Epic-D.
I agree with the theory that it might be easier for Scarlet users to trade in compared to Epic users having to send their cameras to be upgraded. It makes sense. I'm sure RED is going to want to start selling EPICs that are build from the factory with Dragon sensors as soon as possible down the upgrade path they get. Makes sense. But I also think there is going to be a lot of work/volume when it comes to upgrading. I imagine almost every single Epic being upgraded.

This was what I expected. Though I didn't expected Dragon to cost more than was announced earlier and that Scarlet users are now looking to pay around 20k$ for Dragon upgrade.

As someone unfamiliar with the R1 trade-in program, how long were R1 owners able to take advantage? As in, let's say hypothetically, the program begins November 1, 2013. Original Scarlet owners have 3 months? 6 months? to trade-in.
Secondly, what factors affect trade-in value? Hours on the camera? Paint scuffs? Something else?
I'm excited, just hoping I can plan to join in when the time comes.

I think there will be a set value for trade in, when a trade in was offered to Red One customers they received a set $17,000 I believe. I think for the Scarlet a trade in amount will be set for all Scarlets - if there is any damage, I would assume that the camera could be refused trade in.
