  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Happy birthday red one camera from red#0031 and family

shooting at red studio hollywood today...

perfect day for it!!!

just grabbed two blank pieces of white copy paper from production and a ball point pen and scribbled happy birthday on each of them and then placed them under jarred's and jim's windshield blades...hope they dont get mad at me...

I will never forget Red Day Zero. Highlights:

The faces of the Red Team members.

Kelly.

Jim's cigar smoke framing his sh*t eating grin.

Trying to figure out the names of all the pieces of kit.

All of us impatiently waiting to hold our cameras, not realizing until later that the delay was a firmware revision completed at 4:37pm and installed in the first 25 production RedOnes.

Getting to Chapman where Brook had commandeered a TV studio for Evin, Steve "#17" Tammi, Tonaci and I to shoot the first images from a shipping RedOne ever posted on the web.

Three amazing years, thanks to all who made it possible - now, he he, where's my frakkin' Epic :leaving:

Cheers - #19

Indeed - Happy Birthday!

On one hand it feel like it has only been three months (how hectic everything was and is), but on another it feels like 30 years, considering how much has been done and achieved...

Changes like this happens in our industry only once per generation, like adding sound to moving pictures, color film, video, digital video, CGI and now Digital Cinema and DSMC. Despite my relatively young age (36) I was there for the CGI and Digital Video ones and I am sure proud of being part in this one! What makes this one so special is the Internet and forums like these. The way RED can share their visions with us and listen to our needs and dreams. And the way we can all help each other...

Happy Birthday!

Peter

While I only recently joined the family as an owner, I've been hanging out since well before the original release and remember the excitment three years ago as cameras were arriving. So awesome to see how far it's all come, and to be a part of where it's going.

Congratulations & Happy Birthday, Red Team! Truly, though, congratulations everyone - so many have contributed their time and hard work to what Jim & Company have given us. The images and innovations that have followed the release are what have gotten us here!

Feliz aniversario RED One...

A bit more than 3 years ago people said 4k was a pig with wings and a tutu. RED just announced 18-stop HDR is alive, and the reaction is not the same now. Only great things are expected of you. Congratulations and happy Red One birthday.

M... M-X... HDRx...

What's cooking for next year?

:biggrin5:

Ah! Look what Google search brought home:

Actually, I might as well recycle this one...

Happy birthday, RED One; congratulations to the team! I'm not an owner yet, but I've been following the Red story since the earliest announcements.

I plan to order my Epic kit in March--I've no doubt the new cameras will be in the hands of most of you long before then! (:

Happy Birthday Red from Red#0008 and Red "London"!

In some ways it seems like just a year or two since I received #8 - and in other ways it seems like 10 years. I remember the first Red Day like it was just yesterday. Besides #8 I also took delivery of Billy Summer's Red#0013 for him that night. Early the next morning our crew gathered at Paradise FX, mounted #8 and #13 onto the Paradise FX Paracam rig, and shot and edited the world's first Red 3D production - a 3 edited minute short.

Right after that #8 went to Florida so Mike Hastings could design and fabricate the first Red water housing, which we used a week later to shoot the world's first Red underwater footage at Catalina Island.

What's really weird is that it has been well over five years now since Jim personally told me about his dreams for Red, nearly five years since that Red Summit meeting at Oakley I attended, and nearly 41/2 years since I did the first magazine published interview with Jim about the proposed Red camera (Studio Monthly, April 2006).

Thanks Red for seriously changing the landscape of the motion media industry - and very shortly the still photography industry too. In the process you've radically enhanced my own production business and that of thousands of other professionals in this industry! Its been my great pleasure to be involved with some of the planning of Red One from the very start, the early delivery of the cameras, and a ton of field use of Red One all over the world since then.

Happy Birthday :)

Happy Birthday from #1321.

I remember not being able to make a reservation the first time around, but when reservations reopened, I quickly placed my order. I think what made me trust Jim the most was his reputation with Oakley, and after chatting with him and his guys at NAB, I was confident that they were going to deliver. What a great ride it's been.

I wish RED many more years of success.
