It's late on a Tuesday night in Vegas and I've been drinking, so take this idea for what's worth. I was thinking (bad idea) that the reasoning behind offering an Epic M option late last year has now been somewhat superseded by the Japan Factor, and it may be worth revisiting the concept. The Epic M is machined, has a titanium mount, costs about 20K or so more than a comparable Epic X (stage 2), and comes with many discounted bundled accessories (compared to the free accessories, if less of them, offered with the stage 2 epic X).
In light of recent events beyond everyone's control, I would love to see Red recharacterize the M program and begin offering optional hand-made Xs, without titanium mounts, at a price in line with the original stage 2 epic X offering, plus a surcharge to account for the added cost of making these by hand (but less than the current M price). This will execute your Stage 2 (so no double dipping) and you will get your Epic X* a wee it sooner for a wee bit more money, until the assembly line can get into full swing and fulfill everyone's order by summer's end... or whenever.
Just a thought. I apologize if some of my facts are off. And it may be moot since some Epic M adopters with super low serial numbers still haven't received their Ms yet.
Edit: added "stage 2" for clarity, since it includes an $8500 discount and several free inclusions.
