Had to stop and take stock for a second.

I still have my JVC S-VHS tape-to-tape edit system. And I actually might have to fire it up one of these days to reclaim content from SVHS tapes and convert it to digital.

Even as I consider doing that, I curse my mac for the freakin' long time its taking to render a 30 second clip. Technology can NEVER be fast enough or good enough for us. Atleast not for very long.

But content lives a lot longer.

I absolutely loved the HVX. My first international TV spot was shot with it (and a bit of dvx). The images it produced, if one knew what he was doing, was much, much better than what the competition was offering at the time. The dvcpro HD codec was miles ahead of the hdv offering of the competition. It was the camera that opened doors for me. Learned a lot not only about the camera but also about the post tape world we live in now. It was relatively easy to go to red after going through P2! I still have it in my shelf and will not sell it.

How fun it would be to go back in time just to write "the specs are true and in 2012 you'll get an upgraded one for $4k!" on one of them dvxuser threads.
