So I just placed an order on this eVGA GTX 770 SC 4gb :http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E5AEIKE/ref=ox_ya_os_product

I recently sold my Radeon 6950+6970 crossfire setup/cards and wanted something with cuda of equal or slightly more power so that :

a) I could use less energy and keep my system a bit cooler/quieter.

b) Have all of the power in one main card so that my Premiere Pro performance is improved (since premiere only uses the main card for gpu tasks during edit)

Thus, after a couple hours worth of research I came across the GTX770 , it was in my price limit and offered everything i'll need for the immediate future until i eventually upgrade to a Titan SLi (or r9 290x CF if those end up to be as good as they're supposed to be)

My question is this: Are any of you out there using it with resolve? if so, what is your performance (fps) looking like :

- With/without noise reduction
-amount of nodes without issues on average
-during rendering
-working with raw footage

I don't have the 770, but the 780m with 4GB Vram on the new iMac, I can say that at 1/4 debayer I haven't gone crazy, but on average i do 6-7 nodes with no issue. I've done some NR on several clips, that really KILLS my card. It just dies and I have to disable it, or lower the resolution to a HD timeline rather than 4K DCI. Render times are pretty speedy. I don't have a RR so the computer is doing the debayer as well and I get 4-7fps Render. All my experience has been with RAW R3D's.

Thanks for the reply Derek,

I've actually had it for a couple days now, and have been doing some tests of my own.

I found that for RED footage I'm right about where you're at (anything about 1/4[good] drops frames).

For my blackmagic's cDNG I'm able to wokr at 2.5k full res in realtime , with a multiple nodes and no noise reduction. *though with mild (+/- 3.0) I still get realtime with cDNG.

I noticed resolve was very stubborn about it's settings, on anything other than "optimize for playback", I started loosing a frame or two.

Overall, its not a HUGE improvement over what I had, but most of my apps do benefit from cuda tech.

I think I might return the card and get a 780ti or an r9 290x

the 770sc 4gb works great , but didnt give me any, even marginal, boost in Resolve vs my old setup.
