  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GSTABI H10 - GROUPBUY - NEW HANDHELD STABILIZED GIMBAL works with EPIC

Hi Sinh,
I'm afraid that GENS ACE battery is quite large if you put it directly on PAN axis , its still okay, however if you place that battery on the handles it will be better.
There is no particular brand of battery , but I would like to choose low C battery for light weight purpose, don't need to go up to 40C because current draw for gimbal is very small, just below 2 Amperes

Hi Vinh and Huy,

Following the discussion about batteries, could you kindly suggest one brand or model as an example so we wont mess with sizes and weights? if you could provide a link that would be great! Thank you!

Ivan

Hey guys, sorry I have been out of the loop. Been so busy on jobs.

My buddy Justin just got his so I am sure he will be chiming in.
The kind folks at Gremsy want to continue offering the groupbuy deal to Redusers at $4500 through the end of December. Get them while they are hot =).

The ones that Huy recommended above are good.
I ordered the Turnigy 2200mAh 4S 35C Lipo Pack (USA Warehouse) which are a bit pricier.
At the time, these were in stock so I went with the Turnigys. The Zippys are good too.

Hey guys, what is the delay for the joystick? It looks like it lags a bit, so want to make sure I can shoot concerts and such without a problem.

for first tests I ran it from a red brick as I didn´t have a lipo. everything between 12V and 24V should work fine. One thing I noticed is that every little change you make - let´s say changing the battery pack (fixing the new one just one millimetre more back) or taking of the lens cap changes the balance of the rig.

@Tonaci - could you post some photos of the your settings in gstabi app? I think this would help a lot of people.

We got our gStabi H10 about a week ago and I have been tweaking and testing over the last few days. I finally feel like I am getting the hang of all the settings and I am getting some pretty amazing results! I don't have a long enough Lemo cable to run the LCD while I'm shooting so I was doing all of this blind. Some of the skin is definitely over exposed in places, but that is not what I am testing here. Just a heads up hehe. I've actually made some improvements since I shot this stuff so I will posting more vids shortly.

Thanks to Josh Beadle for the use of his epic while mine are out.

Tell me what you think!

Cute kid Justin :). I got mine last week too but barely got batteries yesterday :(. I'll set it up and mess with it tomorrow if I have the time. Now that you brought up about the lemo cable, I will have to investigate this :)

RED @Home = The most cinematic, no audio, Family Videos in 5K ;-)

Anybody had experience with both the Movi and the Gstabi as to compare reliability of "follow" vs "majestic"?

What settings are you using Flo? I'm not having any fun with mine as yet.

Hi Dale, for now I used epic brain with side handle and tokina 11-16. Monitoring with long lemo and 7inch display from red one. I believe the most important thing is to get the balancing right and avoid any disturbance from stiff/short cables. I also moved the gstabi battery holder to the handle so it´s not part of the payload - that´s good for a more compact center of gravity and changing battery doesn´t bring the rig out of balance. I am still experimenting with the PID values. Looking forward to get the ios app so changes can be done in the field. I used P35 I10 D20 for the video above. I think (not 100% sure) that I value doesn´t really matter too much , you could also set it to 1.

Anybody got his rig up and running? Would love to see how you guys arranged the cables , remote receiver and extra gadgets !
