  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus

Mine finally arrived in the U.K. this week as part of the reduser groupbuy but without any batteries!

Did anyone else's unit arrive without batteries or am I just unlucky?!? Only one dtap to 7pin cable too so no way to power both the motors and hand crontiller without them!

Having to hire another one... grmph...

Anyone know how I can get some batts sent asap?

Craig we have just done some research on the 18650 batteries. number one is the LG HG2 with 3 AH capacity and that holds true- rarity in the battery business. https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-LG-Brown...808646&hash=item1a1bb4db61:g:mqsAAOSweZJaST0y
Number two is Panasonic 3.4 AH higher capacity. That's what Tesla puts in their battery packs https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C26OWGS/?tag=reactual-20

Order these locally as the shipping restrictions may hold international shipments up..

Tilta should really let people know the kit doesn't come with batts b4 they're shipped. Just lost a day today on my day off sourcing these for a shoot tomorrow.

Checking out the amazon link now thanks again.

PS the torque on these motors is crazy strong! Really worried about putting them on silos glass and my lomo scopes.

Tilta have informed everyone and their website clearly states that batteries are not included. Also, you only need one ptap cable to run all the motors. you just need to daisy chain them together and they get powered up via the one ptap. One more thing for Craig Lees (and everyone else really).... READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!
 
I got it working without any instructions thank you very much, its plug and play once you have batteries!

I'm just saying it would have been nice when I finally got an email in January saying when it was shipping / provided a tracking number "please note batteries are not supplied".

No big deal but that's what I would have done.

Looking forward to using it now. It's a really well built system.

Tilta has made mistakes and errors for sure but this battery thing is not one of those. People need to stop blaming companies when they just haven't bothered reading the fine print and/or notes containing these details. it's indicated both on their website and this reduser thread at the beginning. BH has a clear note saying there's no batteries either. EVERYWHERE you can buy this follow focus there is a note mentioning how batteries are not included.

Please note that there are two types of 18650 batteries: the ones required for Nucleus M must have a raised positive end, not a flat one! I think the ones you mention do NOT have a raised end. (this is clearly stated by Tilta, but of course there will be confusion...)
