  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus

What size is the tilta gimbal tubes? I am wondering if the wireless grips will be compatible to other gimbals.

cheers paul

Let me try and get that spec for you.

I'm looking for a solution to get the grips on the movipro

MoVI Pro would have to have some sort of adapter since the main tubes run vertical and are the biggest size in the gimbal world of 30mm. It's easy to incorporate into the traditional gimbals as these handles would replace your current gimbal handles, but the MoVI Pro is an entirely different breed. Plus, it would defeat the purpose of having the MoVI Ring too if you're using the Titla handles.

If Tilta are planning to make sure customs isn't a problem with any country then I can imagine they might be going down the usual china shipping route of postage (If anyone catches my drift)

If not i'd be really interested to see what happens as the UK's import duty isn't particularly kind ;)

Also, having done a bit of digging on this thread I couldn't find any estimate costs of shipping to the UK, have we got any or is the jury still out on that?

I'm just relaying what I've been told. If you look at the very first post, it says who to send an email to for shipping cost estimates, so please read that and send an email.

Sorry, just been getting lots of PM's from people asking questions that are answered in the very first post. I mean, come on guys, read at least the first post.

I'll raise this thread with CineGearPro - They are one of the bigger companies dealing with UK distribution of Chinese made cinema products. Rob might have some advice. Maybe not for a few days yet though as they get very busy on Mondays.

Do NOT go to one of Tilta's distributors and tell them about this GB. It's one of the first things to get this entire GB shut down and you'll ruin it for everyone.

1st rule of group buy, there is no group buy.

Yeah, I don't really "get" GBs. Thought id just get some advice on what dealing with the company is like is all. I've deleted my original comment.
My bad

It's all good man. One of Chris' earlier GB's got compromised which has made this community hyper-sensitive.

The general thought process is that in exchange for a discount for a product, the Group Buy group agrees to
a) buy in bulk
b) don't tell the distributors
c) accommodate any shipping or manufacturing hiccups that occur

These manufacturers usually don't drop ship direct to a customer. So this customs thing is one of those hiccups. Tilta has assured us they will take care of it. I don't quite know how, but we'll see when the group buy ends and there's half a million dollars going their way... they'll figure out something.

Question, am I understanding that no matter how many people get in on the group buy, it will be $100 off the msrp regardless? I know it's already a very well priced system, just wanting to know if there was a bigger discount due to a bigger than thought buy in

Chris has said in the first post that he is looking into getting us something

It doesn't matter if the group buy sells 10 of these or 1000, they're not making a lot of money on this unit.

That's why I posted in the first place; i've sent 3 emails in the last 2 weeks to the address you provided in the first post to find out shipping information and haven't received any reply!

also, thank you for explaining the rules of GB's everyone! I too was unsure of them as this is my first participation so am glad I can avoid any faux pas!

No worries. These types of things are usually set up to sell a medium sized batch of high cost, low-volume items. Think production monitors, camera carts, wireless SDI, filters, lighting instruments, etc.

Rarely do all the factors combine, where you get a low cost, high value item, that can be used by pretty much everyone on this forum.

Well, maybe not location sound...but still a lot of people.

Does order number 500 get a toaster or a bonus set of Ginsu steak knives?

Nothing ever got shut-down, but had to do major damage control and it pissed of Inovativ's distributors on the first GB we ran.

I'm trying to get us something else...working with them. I think Tilta is waiting to see what the final numbers come in at to see what else they could do. Thinking camera record trigger cable would be a nice addition, but we'll see.

I'll let them know that you've sent emails and haven't heard back.
