Group Buy - Tilta Gravity Gimbal

Yeah Chris that would be good - trying to at least get an ETA of what week it will come. Helps us plan shoots etc. Plus I'll be away end of October so a little heads up or shipping timeframe would be great. Thanks for your help man

yes please - it would be very frustrating if they did not follow first paid order of fulfillment
Also if seems we are talking to several different people at Tilta.
Chris - can you send us the key contacts again? At one point Yang referred me to one of his assistants whole email always seemed to fail.
There should be one point of contact and one list with shipping tied to payment date.
Chris can you ask them to at least provide you with a payment queue so you can see if they are following any order?
And please let us know when orders are fulfilled (I assume NO orders have been fulfilled so far).
Thx

One other thought - since Tilta has provided some Weapon attachments, can we get support from RED that if they do not deliver in a reasonable RED can 'punish' them a little by not providing them opportunities? That might motivate them to meet expectations.
Nothing against Tilta or Yang, but if RED is treating them well they should value the community even more.

Enough already with making a scandal when there is none. I've bought several of their products in the past and they're above board. They are not in the league of Viewfactor or Be Steady. After the Chinese Holiday, things will resume. I've been in China at this time of year. Next to impossible to get things done. It's almost like their equivalent of our Christmas holiday to put it in perspective. Also, I'm hoping that with this delay, they'll have a chance to address some of the QC issues Pedro has reported.

In terms of contact, I've been communicating primarily with Tian and Yang.

I too tried to order the tilta dsmc2 cage back in june/july and after emailing back and forth with the sales rep they asked me to pay via wire transfer just like this group buy but no guarantee on shipping. I didnt do it. there is just no protection with wire transfer.. and look here. months later and still they are not shipping them because they cant get the parts fast enough for the top plates..

yet you can buy them right now brand new on ebay and have them soon.. what gives TILTA???

Hahaha, I don't think it works that way.

Communication isn't great. I think that's been covered. But until they start missing delivery dates try not to panic.

^Great "Don't panic" link & agreed -no panicking until after delivery dates.

So who has a delivery date?
All I received was: 'After one month.'

Holidays, maternity leave, trade shows, etc. are easily understandable delays when communicated beforehand. I think, poor communication is not an acceptable trait for a business dealing with this kind of money.

Once again, requesting for us all:
1: Invoices including delivery date estimates
2: Explanation of shipping insurance coverage
3: Explanation about why AbelCine shipping & service was removed from the original deal
4: Details on the whereabouts of the first 25 units.

Save for this great forum and Jarred's (and the whole of RED's) wonderful communication, I don't think even Red would provide answers to the questions above (except #.1) as the rest relates more to internal logistics of the company. What they probably will communicate to each customer is the tracking number once the product ships. That said, I think Yang should really have a Tilta rep chime in on this thread, I remember when Ronin GB was organised 2 years back, DJI had someone on the forum (considering the bad rap DJI has on CS, its surprising DJI could go that extent and Tilta won't deem it necessary!). Beyond responsibility to the group, it communicates support for the product rather than put pressure on Chris

Yea...Tilta comes back on Oct 7. I hope to have a master list shortly thereafter for you guys as I know you're all eager to get your gimbals/Armormans.

I met with Yang the other day to try and get some intel as well as to what is going on. He said they have about 25 packages (he couldn't give me an exact number) that are ready to go out the door pretty quickly after Oct 7th. He said come Oct 18, he'll have about another 50 ready to go..so theoretically, all should ship by the end of the month. Again, this is what he's projecting...but it could be sooner.

I'll chime in with an update around Oct 7 with hopefully that list. Trying to stay on top of this as much as I can for you guys.

thank you Chris!

excited

Thank you Chris, you're a rock star.
It sadness me that you have to do so much extra work because Tilta is not doing theirs. Can't wait to get this gimbal. Looks like an absolute winner. But I can't help but urge Tilta to strive to do better in their customer service. Total silence is not cool as many have pointed out.
Why can't Yang come here and tell us this info that you just gave us? That is absolutely his job, and he's not doing it...

No prob guys!

Chris, any chance you address Pedro's observations with Yang? Especially their app, nomenclature and understanding the input and their functions. Some sort of a walk-through video, maybe by the Ikan tech guys of a simple well documented English manual?

I just did a bunch more tests last few days and will be releasing a new video and raising a handful more issues.

It did a lot right....but there is things to address.

I would love to start hearing someone official with Tilta start to address issues over in the review thread.

i'd like to see ANYONE from Tilta on ANY thread..

Well that should change. They are supposedly opening a actual retail location few mins from my house in Burbank on magnolia.

If they can't hire 1 person to interface with the customers, take bug reports etc... then.....the market will speak.

I like many of you hope they step up. Because they do have a very promising product.

Please someone say some awesome stuff about the gravity... seriously thinking about snagging a movi m15 at $5k and at least having a product that has an amazing track record in features and works well. Right now not liking what I'm hearing and not hearing.
I've jumped into cheaper products and regretted it too many times... wonder if we can opt out of our group buy if we've paid?
