  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy - Teradek Bolt

Is there an EU/Euro pricing with this GB discount for SmallHD 703 Bolt?
Last time they shipped items to EU customers from UK I think (it was a Teradek RT GB), which was a lot easier compared to getting items from US (EU VAT, customs, etc.).

Just to clarify, if all the RX and TX sets come with the case and extras are the deluxe sets only better because they come with the wooden camera accessories? Or am I miss understanding something?

Apparently, the deluxe set comes with the AB or V mount plate installed on the RX unit, too. I don’t think there’s any other perk. There’s also the Sony/Canon plate, but that’s not included in the group buy. Not sure of the run time. The bigger battery option is good for long runs, though.

I'll have to confirm exactly what the difference is, but I think the Deluxe Kits not only have the WC Accessories but also some additional cables based on what I see in their webstore. The TX and RX Kits are getting the basic cables required for functioning. No extras or all that.
 
Is there anywhere we can get details about the DSMC2 Bolt?

Is it cableless? When engaged does it deactivate the left POGO or HDMI? What video signal does it run off of?

They don't have the site up yet.

You do lose the left Pogo/HDMI feed. I do suspect there are two specific reasons for that rather than something like an SDI passthrough. It is unknown if there is an easy way to disable or set priority via the menus to enable the pogo or HDMI, but I imagine that could be a firmware or hardware switch. Will know shortly.

And yes, of course it's cableless. That's the whole point of this beast.

Thanks for making this happen. I went to the portal, but it doesn't give me an option for Bolt 500 LT SDI TX & RX Set HDMI.
The portal made me choose either all SDI (RX and TX) or all HDMI (RX and TX).

Answered your PM. Teradek did specify the 500 LT was for SDI only, but when you checkout see what they can do for you.

Thanks to aerodynamics, a motor carriage, and fuel I've found myself back in Los Angeles.

Added all GB participants and all web portal links should be sent out the latests GB'ers.

I do have a bit of news regarding the DSMC2 Bolt. While the module indeed take over the Left Side Pogo/HDMI there will be a physical switch to enable/disable the module when you want to get down use your EVF. This is good news for me honestly because that means I'll likely leave the module "living" on my main camera due to that.

I was about to say add me for the DSMC2 3000 transmitter until I realized it disables the left pogo. No EVF while transmitting is the dealbreaker for me. That’s a bummer. I was so excited when they teased this a few years ago but honestly by the time it ships I think you’d be lucky to get a year out of it before RED comes out with a DSMC3 body.
Anyway, thanks for organizing this Phil, I know it takes a lot of your time and it’s a huge cost savings for a lot of people. I have several bolt sets and have been extremely happy with them. I’ll never go back to a hardwired camera again.
