  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy -Osee 15.6" Production Field Monitor

They are on 30 day back order. I have a filmtools on my other monitor. But would like to get one of these Kupo models.

Yea, the Kupo is cheap but it does the job, which is probably why they are back ordered. :-(

I still havent received my mount for the first Group Buy (not this one I do beleive).

I gave up, I have Kupo I share with other displays.

OK the 2 mounts I have available in house will not clear the back case panel.

Which mounts are you folks using, which can be kept in place, while the monitor case is all buttoned up?

Thanks!

Dave

Anyone able to help with some of these questions?

What settings for colour temp and colour space one should put the monitor in for the following:

On set using LCM 156 field monitor:

  • Using HDMI input with Red Dragon Epic using RedDragon colour space and RedGamma4 and wanting to view what the camera is capturing?
  • Using HDSDI input using Red Dragon Epic using RedDragon colour space and RedGamma4 and wanting to view what the camera is capturing?
  • Using HDSDI input using Red Dragon Epic using RedLogFilm and wanting to view in Rec709?
  • Using HDSDI input using Red Dragon Epic using RedLogFilm and wanting to view in Rec2020?
Using the monitor for grading purposes:

  • What colour temp / colour space settings should be used when outputting to the LCM 156 via HDMI?
  • What colour temp / colour space settings should be used when outputting to the LCM 156 via HDSDI when viewing footage in a RedLogFilm state and wanting to view with a Rec 709?
  • What colour temp / colour space settings should be used when outputting to the LCM 156 via HDSDI when viewing footage in a RedLogFilm state and wanting to view with a Rec 2020?
  • What colour temp / colour space settings should be used when outputting to the LCM 156 via HDSDI when wanting to view your footage with the way it was shot in camera?
If any of these questions could be answered or clarified that would be great.

Thanks!

How does that one work compared to the Kupo?

I have a Kupo but looking to get another one.

Well, I had to cut out an additional piece of foam on the back removable door, as it would not close with the Ram mount installed. It is very tight still, and I will likely Dremel out a small area in the wood to make it fit better. It would be nice if the case was just an inch longer so things back there would have a better chance of fitting.

Im not sure but I think you have to do that with the Kupo as well (read it here someplace).

I havent had the chance to use the Kupo on the OSEE (its attached to another LCD).

I love the Osee since you can place it anywhere and lean it or just clamp it to a stand.

Yes the V-Mount takes up a little folding space from the mount.

The supplied mount from Osee was sent to me but never made it to my doorstep so I gave up on it.

I really need the V-mount so Im going to create a mount for bottom of case soon.

Can you install your own V-mount? Is it a standard DC XLR or something else? i have some extra plates id rather use then spend 200 on it.

you maybe right, I was thinking that too but never got around to tinkering.

Their battery interface doesn't have XLR..it's just a P-Tap to their power connector (they provide that cable).

In terms of the Kupo, you should be able to attach the Kupo with the case installed and close everything up. With their newest design, it all fits nicely.

I have a couple of battery solutions that I was hoping to adapt for this monitor. Is that cable something that can be purchased from them or do you have to buy the battery mount to get it?
