I'd vote for giving this an extra week, if Jacek and other mods don't interfer. The GB had a bit of a bumpy start with posting in the wrong section and not the "usual" polling of total potentially interested before going live.

I think we have a good chance at getting to tier 3, if we give it a week, and I guess the mods won't backflip if we do.

I will however defer to other mods (as I have a interest in this, I want a piece of the kit at as low price as possible), but circumstances considered, I think that would be ok.

When might we expect to learn their position on that? Can you get a read by mid day, six hour or so from now? I understand many are on LA time.
 
I can't imagine them not going along with Gunleik's suggestion. His logic is impeccable.

I don't presume to know how they will respond, but I don't see a problem with it either. So long as the original shipping deadline of 11/22 can be respected all is good, I think. With another one week extension Optitek still has three weeks to complete transactions and ship. That should be plenty, though I would not suggest cutting it any closer.

Jacek would also need to confirm that he can do this, but he has indicated to me that he has enough completed units and parts in inventory to get it done.

I'm fairly optimistic, but I would encourage folks who know they want this to make their move and not risk getting shut out of the deal.

Essentially yes! We are 1 unit away from the requisite #30 for Tier 3 and a 25% discount!

How does the payment work? It looks like 10% is due on ordering and then the balance on shipping, but the 10% is at the Tier 1 price. What happens if some people do not make the purchase, which is very typical of GBs in the past? Many of us only want in if the Tier 3 or above is a sure thing.

There will absolutely be an option for the tier3 provisional participants to back out and be refunded full on deposits if some flake out for one reason or another.
With another week running we'll hopefully have a buffer that covers up for the cold turkeys ;-)

I see that I may have created an issue for Jacek with this suggestion.
Sorry.

As the discounts relay on actual buyers, It would be needed for the total group to have paid up (or at least to have enough deposits paid for a confirmed tire 4 to be able to process all orders.

I see the issue.

And I guess that leaves us with two options:
Either cut t off today and process everything as announced, or extend the processing and delivery with one week also.

I am open to close it down if it introduces too much mess.

OTOH I see that at these later pricepoints, we're probably closer to attract more buyers and reaching tier 4.

this is my suggestion creating this mess and not Scotts/Jaceks

So what I suggest as to processing: Unless we have enough processed deposits to reach tire 4 earlier than the extended dedline, we all accept the one week extention into deliveries as well (and I think that should be reflected with an update in the first post)

Or we just close it today, without any chance reaching tire 4.

I'd like to see tire 4 happening.

But think both of those solutions (close now or extend all) are fair.

Again: sorry for creating a logistical headache... though it is a headache that can gain us all.
