  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Exo is excellent
Got mine today despite Fedex predicting next Monday.
Opted for the hard case. Upon seeing it, a no brainer.
Assembly no problem. Great build quality.
Could use that promised tutorial for optimum setup.
Great job and thank you Pierre for your hardwork and delivery on a really useful product.
Thanks too to Carey & Berringer for making this GB come to fruition.
To all you whiners about having to learn to make a bank wire transfer, think of it as "life long learning"
And thanks to all of you RU group buy participants to make this awesome deal happen.
Cheers
Tony Dean

I think I have one little thing incorrect mounted bracket on the back of the Exo. That little bracket stops me from spacing the two screws that should hold the Exo arms apart enough to fit. Or the one of the screw are just in the wrong place of the bracket.

Here a picture of how it looks.

Now compare that to these picture it looks like metall bracket sholuld have been much more further down like on these picture.

I think i have a good solution but will not do anything before I get any confirmation.

Would be great if some one could take of the exoarms from the vest and snap a photo snap of it. I would like to know if my bracket is at the wrong place or just the screw.

You should move the whole vest in order to move that barrier thats blocking you from placing the screws in the right distance to connect the arms

Thanks, youre right. I thought it looked like you should be able to extend it out, but i guess i used just slightly to little force when I pulled in it before. Yihaa!

I just want to say how happy I am to see Exoskeletons shipping, and to see happy Redusers unboxing and starting to use them. Now that the storm has passed, I expect very little, if any, negativity, coming from this thread in the future. I am very impressed and pleased with the time it took Pierre and his team to bring this new innovation from where it was - a couple of off-the-shelf steadicam arms attached to a vest, to what you are getting now - a revolutionary product, completely redesigned from the ground up. Yes, it has been a difficult journey. But "nothing in life worth doing is easy". We are risk takers by nature, us filmmakers, so it is only natural for us to jump on a new product before it is even born, just based on our experience and awareness of there being a void that needs to be filled. I feel honored to have been a part of the Exoskeleton's evolution and I will continue to keep my eyes on the horizon, always searching for new products that will help me to bring the vision I see in my imagination, the exact, unaltered vision, to reality, without being handcuffed by technological shortcomings. This product brings us all one step closer to achieving that ultimate goal we have as filmmakers, artists and as people: freedom.

Thank you Pierre and thank you fellow Redusers!

Carey, im curios on your addon. Im not sure if yiu have a name for it. It was some kind of hook i believe. Please send me a pm on what to look for.

Hi Pierre,

I haven't received any shipping notice, but I was somewhere around #25 on the list. Can you please give me an update? Thank you.

Anyone wanting to sell theirs?

Stephen

I must say though the video is usefull. The Exo is so simple to set, it's pretty straight forward for everyone, especially us working in the business.

I have one question though about the tension of the 2 springs. It could be nice to add in the next version some kind of scale in Kg and Lbs to set the right tension quickly and visually.
Also, the allen screws on the connecting parts may be lost with vibrations during transportation. I have taped mine to be certain not too.

The harness is so comfortable... It had me realized I had to work my abs.

When I look at it on the stand, with the arms up in the air, I can't stop thinking about The Karate Kid.

Cool video Joel. Any chance you can make one of putting it on? I find the belt parts confusing. Either you have to spring them apart forcefully while you climb in, or attach them after you get into position which seems difficult, at least as a one-man band. With two people, I'm sure it would be easy.

Sorry Mike, I did not make this video. Yeah it would be nice to se the recomended way to get in and out of it. I left one side of the belt on, slide in but get some assistant with the second belt side. I could do it on my own but will be scratching it alot while trying i think.,with assistance i could crawl out of it with both belt sides connected.

Question for those that have received their Exo with the case as mine is sitting in the local custom office at this moment. When you fully assemble it, will it fit in the case. Or do you have to disassemble it?

Thanks

You have to disassemble it. Arms are way too long to pack it in without breaking it down. It comes apart fast if you leave the screws finger tight that attach the arms on. I would say it might take me about 2 minutes or less to assemble the exo.

Doh! Yes, I see that now. L'Aigle Films. Missed that completely. I hope they plan on making a "how to put it on" video next. Especially how to do so on your own.

Joel - this was one of my ideas that I pitched to Pierre on April 5th - "Universal Hook Clamps". He said "we definitely need to do this".

That's the last I heard of it.

I assumed he would be including them in our package.

I was wrong.

Personally, I will never be looping the straps over the crossbar of the gimbal. That method doesn't work well at all. I have another solution I'm working on...

Hi Pierre - I was excited to be getting my Exo today... unfortunately it's stuck in customs and they will not release it. I called FedEx customer service, and they said you, the shipper, needs to contact them to fill out the necessary missing paperwork. Can you please contact FedEx and remedy this situation? Thank you!
