  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Ok im a dope, didnt go far enough into check out process. Taxes are not charged.

But, how do I use the Western Union online thing you mentioned to pay? Its not obviously tied into your page. It just gives wire transfer or check.

Hmm? Tried to order thru that link you sent and it charged the taxes. Didnt complete the order. What did I do wrong?

You did nothing wrong. But the "Prestashop" did. 20% French VAT were added and shouldn't be.
But when you log in and state you're not taking delivery in France or Europe, the VAT should automatically disappear.

Ok went to western union site. Think its done. Says on hold until they check a few things. Let me know when it comes thru please?

After hemming and hawing I decided to order the hardcase. I figured, how long would it be till it's stocked stateside. Also, I figured most jobs that require an exo will have no issue transporting a hardcase. With travel jobs on the horizon, the soft case wouldn't do me any good. Converting a hard case properly in the US, would end up costing more. I count the days. Great work Pierre.

Hi Pierre,

I responded to your e-mail about the hard case and said I wanted to order one, but I haven't received how to order one. Please let me know so I can order it before you have to ship my Exo.

Thanks,

Nook Kim

Nook, sending you an email.
By the way, you can use my email address again, its capacity has been "augmented" too...

Hummm... additional 490€, this is nice (lol)
Fella' I decided long ago that I won't spend more, so just send my unit however it comes.

Kwan, you're gonna want the hard case. The cost of a repair is too much to risk. We're getting the rig less than cost and 1/3 retail. Sure it's more than we calculated but we all know by know nothing is ever certain on group buys for emerging tech. So many variables come into play. At some point, L'Aigle, realized the under estimate and has to make up for it or the other alternative would be to close the group buy and issue refunds. I see this as a cost overrun that the buyer has to pick up or get a refund. Like when you spec a renovation or construct a new building. It happens. I don't suspect Pierre anticipated overruns way long ago and decided to bait and switch us. The extra 500.00 will be covered by the first gig or two and let you sleep when it's tossed into the back of a truck or the hold of a plane. Wait until you get the estimate for a custom lazer fit foam and a Pelican bought at B&H and the hard case will suddenly make sense.

I don't suspect Pierre decided to bait and switch us.

I certainly didn't. And I'd be more than happy to "un-bait" any of you, refunding the 2000. But not sure this will happen!
I committed to fulfillment at this price. So be it!

I certainly didn't.

I really didn't think you did..

I must ask two questions:

1.) Is there, or will there be, some way of taking the arms apart without tools?

2.) In the image of the hardcase I see an orange tool. Not received with our fast-tracked unit. Wondering if it will come later or insight on what it is/does. I'm mainly wondering if it's something used to take the arms apart with easily.

Thanks Ned. Wise choice! And a nice one too.
I looked into getting a custom lazer cut here in the US. It's no bargain and then add in the turn around time. As we say in Brooklyn, fuggeddabouit. A few months back as I looked out the window of my plane at LAX watching airline workers load up luggage into a plane, I was amazed at how they seem to go out of their way to test the limits of a suitcase. Every one was tossed upside down onto the conveyor belt. A gorilla has more finesse. Then I saw someone's camera package all in hard cases getting loaded up. Same thing, heave ho and slam upside down on the belt. Never again will I transport gear in anything less than a hardshell on a plane. Not even rigid soft cases will do.

Pierre, I have seen the light!! I am ordering the fitted hard case. Payment sent via bank wire transfer this afternoon. I am number 89 on the final list, looking forward to the new toy!

Thanks for your wonderful product.

David

Pierre, I just ordered a hard case. Wire transfer will be done tomorrow (Saturday), but will probably take affect Monday. Thanks for a great product at an unbelievable price.
Carey, thanks for setting up this group buy. I know it no doubt turned into way more work, criticism and frustration than you were anticipating, but I sincerely appreciate what you have done for this community. Pierre, same goes for you. Sorry it got off the rails a bit but there are a bunch of us that are super grateful for the opportunity you have given us. I'll reward you with some BTS footage and photos as you have asked.
Thanks you guys!

Hey Jim, I keep getting kickback from the WesternUnion site about the "receiver's address". Would you mind letting me know what you put for the proper receiver's (Pierre's) "Address 1, City, Region, Postal Code"?

I've tried wire transfers from my banks twice now and for whatever reason it really stumps them to figure it out. Then it's past 2 pm and they can't do it until Monday, which is no good for me. Any help would be good. Thanks.

I've already e-mailed about this to Pierre, but I can use some help from here if anyone is feeling extra generous at the moment. Pierre said in an e-mail that some guy came up with a way to pay for the case with credit card via Western Union. I was expecting a link or some sort at the check-out, but I'm on the last step of the check-out and I'm failing to find anything related to Western Union.

Does anyone know how I can pay for the case with my credit card?

Thanks in advance,

I've written Pierre emails several times and had no response... After receiving my paypal down payment back, I've tried contacting Pierre on several occasions. I'll try here again...

HELLLOOOOOO!

Pierre, can you message me, please?

Don't feel bad Austin, some how everyone is getting fulfillment priority over me.

Hmmm. yes, seems to be a problem.

Pierre, it seems as though people later on the list than myself are already getting shipping confirmations. I will go ahead and assume this is because the email with my shipping confirmation/tracking number has somehow gotten lost in transit, so if that's the case please resend so I can have that tracking number.

Thank you!

PS- I have already thoroughly checked spam folders, and it is not there

Austin, the units with a case can ship immediately from the stock. We’re not losing a minute to free some warehouse space. On the other hand, the softcase units need special care and generous bubble film packaging. Your unit ships on monday.

Christopher, all we have from you is one single email saying that you are out of country and unable to deal with this order. You didn’t even paid the december 2014 deposit! It’s way too late now to be part of this GB.

Nook, The Western Union site is not related to ours. It’s just a way to send money using a CC online – since bank wires can be a hassle for many of you, who even need to physically go into a bank!!

Bryan, sending the info via email.

David (Callahan), thank you very much. Your gratitude is truly appreciated.

Carey. You were the first one to get a unit. You still have it and it needs to fly back to us for a swap against a brand new one in a case. We’re dealing with reimporting the unit. Do we really need to go public for our communications?????

David (Rogers), thanks for your choice.

Please remember we are on the GMT+1 time zone. I’m doing some extra hours after the company closes to be with you during French evenings when your day starts in LA. But all emails cannot be answered the next minute when the night is dark here!

I can understand the logistics involved in such a thing. With all this fuss over a hard case, it can start to feel like those of us opting to not pay more are treated as second-class customers. Like we are not as important as those that are spending more money on the case. On the very first post it says that orders will be fulfilled according to the master list. A deviation from that plan may seem small, but the small deviations are adding up, and that is frustrating. It seems like shipping the units in order would be an easy promise to keep.

I bought in to this concept relatively early because I believed you would create an excellent product, and I believe you have done that. Please know that the frustrations felt are because of an excitement to finally get my hands on such great tech.
