• Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

I was talking about some universal hooks that Pierre is creating to make your (all but Helix) gimbal/Exo combo work as well as they possibly can together. I have no clue how that discussion got so far off track.

Having spent over a week (over 100 hours) thoroughly testing the pre-production model of the Exoskeleton, I was excited to let all of the rest of the world's population of non-Helix gimbal owners know that Pierre will, indeed, be manufacturing universal hooks that will mount onto the crossbar of the overwhelming majority of gimbals that exist in the world.

Because the "hooks" idea is something Pierre and I had already discussed, because my only qualm was with the way the Exo currently interfaces with all gimbals, and because the folks from the Helix camp have come up with their own version of the "hooks interface", I thought it relevant to share with the rest of the non-Helix gimbal owners that they will all have the "hooks interface" as an option, and after my extensive testing, I wanted everyone to know that this option is by far the best way to interface your gimbal to your Exo.

Everybody wanted a review from me. My only concerns were the width of the Exo and the way it interfaces with the gimbal. I was not satisfied with the current two configurations that the Exo could be used in, "hands interface mode" and "tethered mode". I knew there had to be a third option. Pierre agreed. So, he went back and shaved 10" off of the width of the Exo and he is designing universal hook clamps that will give users a third option: "hooks interface mode".

Since Pierre solved my only two concerns with the Exo, I can now give it my full endorsement as an amazing piece of gear that you all got at an amazing price, and one that I will never go on set without.

Thank you Carey; sounds as though Pierre is thinking ahead! Do you know if he is going to offer the hooks with the exo or is it going to be an accessory offered for sale in addition to?

Here is a question for Pierre -

Is it possible to adjust an upper limit on the angle of the arms? In other words, if I want to stop the arms from lifting the gimbal past a certain height, can I set a "stop" at less than full height?

Would still love to get a response on this from anyone who has had experience with the release version.

Pierre?

I'm humbly asking Pierre to add these to the Redusers as part of the group buy. Perhaps he will sell them as a separate accessory. That's his call.

Great news Carey.

so I am assuming then they will be making production changes now which I assume will cbs be lead time until well after NAB?

maybe pierre had some Input. Just trying to get an idea of what's happening.

Since I have both Ronin and Helix I am very interested in- accrocher à la mode.

Lead time is a 100% Pierre question.

I've done my part to approach him about a group buy, sell a bunch of units, keep you all informed of the progress and answer all questions to the best of my knowledge, put up with the stress of conspiracy theories and unfounded accusations, spend over 100 hours testing the unit he sent me and providing valuable, objective feedback from a working Cinematographer's persoective, feedback which will help to make the Exoskeleton the best product that it can possibly be at launch.

Now, it's in Pierre's hands.

I'd be willing to pay for the added hooks, I'm just ready to have the Exo on the truck.

I have both the Movi 10 and Ronin and personally prefer the Ronin. It's heavier but feels a little more like a professional piece of equipment to me. The motors on the Ronin seem to be stronger as well. We use the Movi exclusively on the Heli now and it does a great job there. They both have their place.

Looking to see if there is unpaid spots or any units that can be bought at the discount. Please pm me if you have info.
Thank You,
Asa

Thank You,

I'm sure it will, but some of us in the queue since October have shown interest in more units.

At some point, the GB will open again to fulfill the "No News Buyers".

Preproduction

Final Units

Thanks for compiling all of that info Bèrenger - I appreciate the help too!

Keep in mind, in all the videos you see the Exo being used in "tethered" mode only. This is definitely NOT the best way to use the Exo. Believe me, I know. The new "hooks interface mode" is the way you will be seeing it used from now on. This is a major leap forward in evolution in the way the gimbal interacts with the Exo and the operator. Total freedom, more range of motion, more agility, more control... I can't wait to try the new hooks!

I have just updated the list with the help of Pierre.

I will do another batch of reminder for the 30+ people without news. Some have their wire currently in transfer, and still pending.

So yes 30+ people. We need to hurry payment, it is holding us buyers from receiving our units.
I don't know if Pierre is showcasing the Exo at NAB (probably), but for those waiting to see it live, we need to add a deadline.
What about the 20th April ? One week after Nab, if the money is not confirmed by Pierre's list, the spot will be free for someone else until the original 93 commited people are all in.

Let it be someone who wishes to add one and only one unit, or buyers who wants to enter the GB.

For those working with JP Morgan Chase, this bank takes forever to wire money from Europe to USA, I'm sure it's the same the otherway around, so you need to know that.

These buyers still needs to pay for their unit(s).
I will PM you for update this afternoon (well here)
BUt you can also tell me if your payment has been sent in PM.

There is not deadline yet, but I would like Carey to put one actually.
Lots of interest outside and inside the GB to replace "no news buyers". We need to make room for really interested parties.
I mean, an answer to a PM is quite simple.

__

On a general side, I still received no answers from a lot of GB'ers, as you can see on the list above.
Maybe they are in, maybe they are not. I don't know, they didn't answer.

Lots of video has been published, specs, pictures, renders, accessories design has started.
Only thing missing is Carey full review, and to be honest, no disrespect to you Carey...
But I couldn't care less about a review, when I have quality videos, and several positive
posts like Carey's.

It has been a week since I have posted the list and the page #1 post #6 recap. The only thing it changed is already committed
buyers with pending payment, have received a confirmation thei payment has arrived.

26 people are MIA. We need to have them here and pay their dues, or to drop out of the GB.

Hello Berenger, thanks for the update
We bought 3 units, not 2.
Thanks a lot!

Thanks Dario, updated.

Hi Bérenger,

I'm still considered "no news" but am not holding up the group, as you implied. We simply need to know when payment is due by and when units will arrive. Real shipping info like how many per week will ship starting at a specific date please.

I'm thrilled to see test videos and continued glowing comments from Carrey. All-in-all, this is looking wonderful. I just need the admin information that we have been asking for please.

Assuming that information comes in, I am still 100% holding true to my purchase commitment.

Thanks,

Ivan.
