  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Pierre -

Thanks. The product looks great. Posting that video was spectacular. Really looking forward to getting this.

Sorry to interrupt those fascinating stories.

Here is a video shot by our exclusive UK reseller, Beyond HD:
https://vimeo.com/123898881

This is shot with one of the pre-prod sample. Bear in mind that we twisted the rotation axle of the exoarms to have their elbow curves come closer by 10".
Yet, you will discover the "OCTOPUS TECHNIQUE" in this video on how to worm through tight spaces.

Ok, that's all from me. You may resume to personal stories / conspiracy theories / negative prejudices / racist thoughts...

Thanks Pierre that review was much appreciated.. so glady i'm paid in full. Merci beaucoup

Sorry.... I just wanted to say thank you again!!! I cant remember the last time I was this excited about a piece of gear next to my camera. Pierre thank you for bringing this to the market and to us at such an affordable price. Carey thank you for organizing this for us! This is truly exciting! BTW!! +1 for the drink holder!

If people drop out threatening a situation where Pierre doesn't want to honor the 2000 euro price then the group buyers wanting to increase their quantity should be allowed to do so if getting the total to 93 is the issue.

Agreed.

It doesn't matter how we get to 93... as long as we get there.

Bérenger,
I have a confirmed deposit but was never put on the list. Can you add me, please?
Thanks.

I think that video seals the deal for nay-sayers... I have updated the list on page 1 post 6

Thanks Pierre, and thanks BeyondHD, it was exactly what everyone were curious about.

You will sell a lot of those and as you said, it will be the mendatory companion of a gimbal.

Is it too late to get a second unit ?

I would suggest to anybody who has the possibility of buying in on this or taking over a space to get it, do so. Particularly if you have a Helix .This is going to be a huge hit at NAB and the price will easily double if not more.

I am paid in full. But would definitely take a second Exo if anyone wants out or if needed to make the 93 quantity total.

Here's a bold statement: based on my extensive testing with the L'Aigle Exoskeleton, and my observation of the AP version... I think people will prefer the L'Aigle, if they have the opportunity to test them both side-by-side at NAB.

The biggest problem I see with the AP version is that it appears that you must be tethered to the gimbal... Which defeats the purpose of using a gimbal in the first place. The L'Aigle allows you to use your gimbal the way it was intended to be used, without being tethered to it.

Based on my tests, I will NEVER use the L'Aigle the way it is used in all of the promo videos where you are tethered to your gimbal.

I repeat: I will never use it in this way.

The good news is, you don't have to. You can just use the hands interface to pick it up and set it down by yourself, hand it off to multiple operators and have the freedom of movement and agility as if you are just using the gimbal by itself... But without any weight on your arms, shoulders and other muscles. Being tethered to the gimbal is too limiting. I requires an assistant to constantly mount and u mount the camera and the shots you are able to obtain are restricted.

The hands interface mode has zero restrictions.

The other big advantage I noticed from the videos is that "Le Pierre" has the arms articulating wing action at the back so you can do the over the shoulder thing. I don't think the AP can do that.
Aloha

The "tethered" mode shown in the RUNNER video is only one way to use it. As you can see, the RUNNER interfaces to the Gimbal via pre-mounted straps and then via the RUNNER "Hooks". Actually, you can hand over the Gimbal form one operator to another by "un-hooking". This way the one operator can work in the less tiring "tethered" mode and "hands-over" to the operator working in the "wrist-strap" mode. So, yes, have straps as well that let you use the RUNNER just in the way you have tested the L'Aigle.

That's good to know Brian... But when you use the L'Agle, with my custom accessory, the "tethered mode" is no less tiring than the "hands mode". They are exactly the same in terms of how tired you get and the muscles you use.
