  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

You cant answer any questions? Understand the video, but cant give a quick verbal review on some of the key points people have made? No don't understand, sorry.

Here's my answer Jim: I have bent over backwards for this group buy.

You can check back here in 8-10 days for my full review.

That's final.

Thank you.

Thanks Carey,
You truly have done great work on this gb and I have thanked you on numerous occasions both public and private. I don't really understand your hard line on this, your on a shoot but apparently you have some free time. Why not share some thoughts with us, we are all still going to watch your video regardless of when you post it ! Turn your thoughts into teasers like "when you see this in the video you'll see", etc. I have paid for my unit partially because of your efforts and also from what I've seen on line, it's a no brainer, total easy rig killer at a fraction of the price, especially once you figure in all the add ons that an easy rig needs to get close to the capabilities of the exo for a heavy rig. So, back to my not understanding your hard line, whats up ?
Aloha

Really guys? We're attacking Carey now? Why do you think Carey owes us anything? With the incredible deal we're getting, surely it's the other way around.

Well I understand it. Carey working 16-hour days, it's called "sleep". With all the work he's put into this GB, I think he's earned some down time. Call me old-fashioned....

Mike, totally not an attack, went out of my way to praise. If you have time to post, you have time to make it relevant

Yeah, probably attack is too strong a word. But I don't get the idea that we have any right to pressure Carey into providing us with anything. Give his time some respect. He's arranged an incredible deal for us, and Pierre is offering that deal. I don't get the urgency for more info. We can back out at any time. Even some considerable time after taking delivery. If you have doubts, you are free to back out as soon as now if you want. What info is it that you so desperately need to be comfortable in your previous decision?

Hey let's talk about something positive for the next 8-10 days.

Like this:

I propose that at NAB we build an arena and have a true battle of the exoskeletons.

Who's in? All in good fun, of course…

Dude, re read my post, not just your quote, I stand by every word. Don't desperately need anything as I have paid, just nice to get some info from some one that has played extensively, duhh !

Guys,

its amazing:) we are very lucky to be the distributor for Pierre in the benelux, and we have been able to try a pre production version. its awesome!

Wow, wasn't attacking anyone. Appreciate what Carey has and is doing. Its just a chunk of money and have been a part of something like this before and was totally screwed over. Lost a s load of money. Not saying that is what is happening here or is going to happen here. Just want to make sure I am spending my $ wisely and I do that by making choices after actually physically going over equipment before purchase and taking in others working opinions. I don't have any of that in this case and normally with a new product there are people describing what it can and cant do. Just by saying its a good piece of equipment isn't usually enough info. I understand its preproduction and in a group buy. Want to make smart decisions with my $.

Yes I can just return it at the end but I would rather avoid that if possible. Returning it will take time I don't have to ship it, fees and shipping cost money that I really don't want to part with. Those $ would likely go to something else I need.

The little bits and pieces of info I have seen have all been positive. Just no one's opinion who has actually used it. There are certain things I will need it to do as this is how I shoot with my Movi and don't think its too hard to answer a few questions. Whether it be from Carey or someone else. And again, not attacking Carey. Actually thank you Carey for putting this all together.

Vincent, thank you for your input. I was hoping to find the range of the arms if possible since you have used it. Im a bigger guy and have long arms. Could I shoot someone profile while walking with this? I would be walking facing forward and holding Movi facing sideways at subjects profile. Probably one of my arms far away from me the other tucked up alone side of my body. And could I adjust the height of lens while doing that? Appreciate the help.

and here is the Quick Video: https://youtu.be/gQ9IFYFI4Aw

we have only had it for a very short period of time, so haven't been able to test it a lot. but it has been definately made much nicer than the previous version, and it works awesome:)
Vincent your a good man. Thank you for that video! So could you hold your Ronin at a 90 degree angle, sideways, to your body to shoot someone in their profile while both walking forward? Ive only seen it facing kinda forward. Could you post a video walking thru a doorway too? If not thats fine. Appreciate what you've done so far. Thanks

Nice one Vincent! Some questions, because I dont understand it fully. When doing eye level shots, how do you pan? There was also some feature for passing over the rig to another operator, do you insert your arms into the loops then instead?

Not necessarily and I'll echo the sentiment that everyone ease up on Carey and be grateful for the opportunity he's worked hard to create for us. Writing - like all things, takes time to do properly. A hurried statement or partial review will not answer nearly everyone's questions, will only beg more questions, and may well cause confusion or even harm.

We all knew the potential risks and rewards of GBs and being impatient or ungrateful will certainly not help or encourage Carey / others to invest their time and energy in future GB's.

Thanks for the closeup looks Vincent !

Vincent, can you also adjust the rods that seems to dig into your armpit at around 00:54 in the video? I can see if wearing a jacket etc that might be a problem? I hope its possible to adjust these further out from your body. How is the viewing angle on the monitor when you have the gimbal in highest position? Im trying to make a proper comparison to the runner. I hope to be able to try both at NAB however your video shows better how it works than other I've seen.

Can some please PM me Pierre's email address? I have yet to make contact with him after a over a week of trying.
