  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Hey Carey,
It actually would be really help full if you gave us some basic feedback about your experience with the exo. You have had it for quite a while, perhaps longer than anyone outside of Pierre's world. While seeing video is revealing, your written thoughts about its virtues and shortcomings might be more help full to us at this point. Please give us your thoughts as it really isn't about your video tests; Even though we all really want to see them :-)
Aloha

I do have one major question - that to answer, Carey, you only just a tape measure. How wide is it? As operators we all know we often have to go through standard doorways (28"-32") constantly. Based on the pictures it looks to be about seven to ten inches wider than your average shoulder width. Work out the math, it's scary close.

Often times products borne from innovation and passion but not the input or testing of working cameramen leads to egregious oversights (i.e. Epic's one EVF/Monitor out - solved much later). So please, take the two minutes it takes to answer this concern. I'm not trying to cause a negativity storm but we're at the point that money is changing hands, a good deal of it, and we're doing this in spite of specs but on faith. So in good faith, elucidate us.

Otherwise, thanks for taking the time to put this together. I hope it plays out well.

Well said.

a tape measure.

646,5mm = 25,4"
And you can choose to use one arm only and hang the gimbal from its central handle in very narrow spaces.

Is it too much maybe to ask for someone from Pierres camp to post a quick video of someone putting it on, walking, collapsing, taking it off? Even an iPhone video and some thorough pics of the final package? I would like to pay the balance but I'm still waiting foray least this. At this point it's so close to NAB we could almost wait and try all of the options on the show floor. Granted the price break is still yet to be beat but a little more visual info would be helpful.

Believe me, putting it on and taking it off is incredibly simple and can easily be done by yourself.

I would not spend one nanosecond being concerned about this.

I'm concerned about why some of our questions remain unanswered. It may very well be that there is a reason for not releasing any more footage or information at this point, but if so I'd like to hear about it openly. In any case a short summary of how we will proceed with this group buy (payment and shipping) would help clear some fog.

Carey with all due respect its not a matter of being concerned about how well the L'aigle works on its own. I have no doubt it's great. My concern is about how it works In comparison with the other options which I have seen in more detail.

granted the earlier videos posted by Pierre are decent they are just a bit distracting and it makes it difficult to see enough detail.

thats all, sorry about the computer problems. I was only curious why Pierre and their team are unable to post this on the meantime. As it may be more than enough for some of us. speaking for myself though I am more interested in a decent demonstration and good photos over a thorough review. Although the review is appreciated and definitely helps the process.

All ml that being said no one is holding a gun to anyone's head asking for immediate balances to be paid so I'll just wait for the full video

thanks again for doing this

Back from London! Here is a first smartphone video and british operators comments:

There hasn’t been one bit of negativity. The exoskeleton works beautifully. And the feel of comfort (with a Red Dragon on Letus Helix) is beyond expectations. You actually feel like flying a spaceship comfortably installed behind the control panel and joysticks!
Thanks for input Pierre but some don't own a letus. Some have heavier rigs.

Also no one has answered if it fits thru doorways. Not really sure why? Also everyone I see that is using at the trade shows are just holding it in front of them. It's hard to judge range of Exo movement while actually shooting. Someone actually shooting with it will be incredibly helpful.
I figure it might be easier for you as well if everyone seen it's limits ahead of time instead of possible returns if it doesn't do what people need it to do.
It does look like it's an incredible product but might not be what some need.
More feedback is greatly appreciated. Please.

Dear Pierre,
First thing, NO hard feelings :cheers2:, my following comments are only base on broken promises. I am fully aware of all central dilemma on good/bad excuses since this group-buy started (having next one won't hurt - lol).

Now my only comment is;
It is simply sad that all The deadline has passed and still full list of excuses to entertain a party in this forum. Please be true and help me to understand this, How can I accept any excuses on delay while you are alway on schedule (on time) to promote your item on every event and still no final date on delivery.

(Note: Wise people knows this isn't a negative comment however bucket of fools do exsist (lol).

To all Please Pay extra attention here (thanks):
NO hard feelings however this bully compliment "Take you money back if you are not happy" has to stop. It is wise to direct your anger towards problems not on Group-buyers who spent (and willing to spend) their hard earn to support this.

@ Carey, Would you please let Pierre take-care on this please (lol)

To help appease the concerns about video of folks using the Exo, I think some may have missed these, posted earlier:

Would love to se some shoots from a moving car. And if youre not over 185cm perhaps you could try a "normal sized car" like a volvo=) or similar. Would be fun just to se the limitations.
If you do any car shots please dont take the newest built roads that is 98% flat.

Sorry Pierre miss your post with the drawing and dimensions. That does help though. More of that would be greatly appreciated.

So it's roughly 25" with arms collapsed. What does it measure with your arms out and using it like I see in all the videos?

Thanks for posting that. Holding it in one place is great but what can you shoot profile and what does footage look like with it.

Pierre: I need my invoice corrected (#000059). Right now it's just random numbers. It should include the information for your bank and be itemized. I was one of the paypal depoits, so the bank account information might've been missed.

Here's an example. For anyone else reading, these are just the number that seem to be making sense to me.
Full Price of Exo: €4725
Red User Discount: -€2725
Received deposit: -€374

Final Amount Owed: ?

I would ask that this be done for everyone else as well. This is the third time I've asked for help in the past 5 days with no response. I have also sent you a PM on this forum.

To Pierre and Carey,
From my point of view, both of you guys are doing an amazing job so far. I understand the troubles from initial concept to realities of final product. Also, the delays it entails.

Everyone, please understand we're the first ones with a great discounted price. Patience...

Carrey: If you want to get the video out faster and don't mind trekking up to Studio City, let me know. I have a mac pro with avid, fcp, premiere, davinci, redcine, and a rocket-x. We can get the video up this weekend. I should be free Saturday or Sunday. Send me a PM if interested.

Thanks Pierre. This clears up a lot. It's tight but 28" being the smallest doorways in most US doorways, this should work. Anyway, hoping to get it before a feature I have in a month's time.

Joe, I found it best to go with direct EM to Pierre. L'Aingle sent me an invoice and wire xfer info a week ago or so for 1775 euros for the balance. I seem to get reliable responses via direct EM not through RU. Some people, like myself included, don't check RUser PM's like we should. Good luck.
