  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Great to here that the eagle has landed. Looking forward to viewing your review video on it while wating for it to arrive here.

Carey my main concern which seems unknown at this point is exactly how you attach the gimbal to the Exo. Is it simply just looping those straps on the end of the arms? how are those straps attached to the exo arms?

Carey, thanks for the update. Do I understand correctly that we (group buyers) will receive an invoice on the 16th to wire the rest of the funds? I haven't received any e-mails about that from L'Aigle. I wanted to check so I'll know what to expect.

Best regards,
Collin Martin

haha! Looks like patience would've paid off for paying the invoice. The euro to dollar is almost 1:1. When Pierre handed out the invoice to those asking for it, the dollar was about $1.13 to 1 euro. Now its $1.05 to 1 euro! Soonofa!!!

And it was about $1.46 when the group buy started.

The straps are great. Very comfortable and well-made. They can be used looping around the gimbal itself, or around the palms of your hands. They are thick and comfortable and work they way they are intended to. Quite a simple and brilliant solution.

Hey Carey

How about some photos?

i forwarded your question to Pierre.

By the way, I am now ready to call this L'Aigle Exoskeleton an official "can't live without" piece of gear.

Carey or Pierre,

I'm still listed as unpaid for deposit. I paid it almost two months ago. Made inquiries about this oversight a week ago as I don't want to get missed. Could you please correct it ? Thanks.

I'm still marked as ????? but I have the Paypal receipt, so I presume all is good. Do you have a receipt or wire confirmation etc?

There was going to be a final de-facto list produced a while back, but I think this will now happen once Carey posts his thoughts/review and Pierre wants to kick into the ordering/final payment cycle.

If you have a receipt, don't worry about it. You're good. Correction: I marked "Ned Wilson" as PAID

I'll fix that Andy.

No worries about the list. The order is correct. The numbers are just off. Pierre has the list and will ship in the correct order.

By the way, if anyone is going by an alias on Reduser, it is against the rules and I can't help you. This is, and always has been, a "real names forum".

No stress, Carey - always appreciate the effort GB's take (this is my third with you :)

Problem for me was Paypal from my (long suffering) other half... I don't have Paypal myself.

Hi Carey,

First-up, thanks for all you're doing in this GB! You've been really on top of updating everyone, and I appreciate how much energy & time that takes on top of shooting for work!

Just wanted to bring up two things - one micro, one macro:

1) MICRO: I paid a deposit via wire transfer quite a while ago. I have proof of sending it from my foreign exchange company, but have not received any confirmation from Pierre / L'Aigle. I just have the initial online store email saying "send money here..". I am also not listed as PAID on the first page (#8 on the second list).

2) MACRO: The communication from L'Aigle hasn't been awesome so far. Obviously a lot of slack is granted because they're trying to get a brand new product out the door! But we have seen major delays in timeline / delivery and I'm really not clear as to when people are going to get units. Maybe I've missed something, but I think all we know is that we're being given invoices on Monday the 16th to send more money... Any info regarding actual ship dates and capacity to manufacture is months old, and no longer accurate given the delays.

That's totally not a criticism of you Carey, or even the product itself, and I'm replying to you as the organizer, but I hope Pierre / L'Aigle sees this, or you relay the sentiment when you speak...

I would love to see L'Aigle step up here and set in stone some information about when each of us will actually see our products. Not just "hope to ship XX weeks after YY or ZZ" but something concrete like "first units ship on March XX, and we are shipping XX per week. Here is the FINAL list where you can see your number and calculate your shipping date." We've shown early faith in the company and product (which looks to be paying off!) and I'd love to have that relationship shift towards a normal supplier / customer one.

Thanks again for everything so far Carey, and I can't wait to see your footage & photos!! Very exciting! :hurray::thumbsup:

1. As said, if you have proof on your end that you paid, you will be taken care of. Pierre will need to work with you personally to straighten this matter out as it is completely out of my hands.

2. The timeline/delivery has shifted because of the evolution of the product. You are not getting the original Exoskeleton that won the most innovative product award... you are getting a much more sophisticated product. I have it in my hands, and I can tell you, it's a different product entirely. I'm amazed at how fast Pierre has been able to take this new design from concept to reality.

As far as shipping... we don't have concrete dates yet because the product is in its final fine-tuning stages. As soon as I get exact dates, they will be posted.

As far as the group buy is concerned... L'agile would never release a half-baked product. The product will only be released when it is ready, and not before. Anyone lucky enough to be a part of this group buy will be rewarded with the absolute best Exoskeleton that has been battle-tested and proven.

If you need an exoskeleton before it ships (before it's ready), you always have the option to pull out of the group buy and get a refund on your deposit. I would advise against it since you would most likely end up buying it later for more money anyway. The good news it, it's totally in your hands.

In the meantime, Pierre and Co. will continue to work hard to get this product in your hands as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support!

Can't wait to get mine, and what a bargain!!!! BeyondHD says they expect to deliver their first orders at the end of March so I suspect that we are very close. Would be nice to get it from Pierre's mouth though.
Aloha

Great, thanks for the speedy reply Carey! I'll PM Pierre to sort out payment, if I cannot be marked as "paid" on the main list.

2. I can only speak for myself here, but I completely understand and appreciate that this is a better product now. Restating those things to explain the big delays, and offering the option to simply leave the group does not address my concern, and perhaps I muddled the issue by referencing the delay, sorry. My post was mainly to ask if the communication from L'Aigle could be better from here on out. It does come as a surprise to hear that they are still in "final fine-tuning stages" as of mid-March, but I am not a product developer - I don't know if that means 2 more days, weeks, or months :)

I'm super excited about this product. Delays happen. I get it. What I'm asking of L'Aigle is to be treated as a client / customer in the coming days & weeks. That just means a bit more communication and clarity, moving forward.

Unless I missed it, there has been no revised timeline estimate. I appreciate that you'll post the shipping time when it's ready - I mean, I would hope so! :) Asking for some clarity on timelines, as they are right now, is not unreasonable, right? The approach of "it's ready when it's ready, feel free to leave" seems like an overreaction to me.

I'm just asking for a final buyer list for us to check against, now that everyone has paid 2-3 months ago, and an estimated shipping date / capacity that L'Aigle feels confident in. If it's in June, or even 2016, so be it :D I just want to be able to plan the purchase and know when to start talking this thing up to clients & producers.

Thanks again,

Ivan.
