  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

And what if i have longer or shorter arms ??? It's sold based on size, lenght ? Or is it adjustable. The end of that might be but i dont see other photos to make it clear.

Similar to this, how do we bring the camera closer and further away from us? Are those arms locked/extended?. I imagine if they are it would make maneuvering through small corridors/hallways in tight situations quite difficult. Excited to see how this handles those situations. Thanks for the pics!

In order to follow any of your movements without restriction, the exoarms have to deal with a full extension of your arms as well as a close-to-body position.
And the extra length needed with fully extended arms need to go somewhere in close-to-body position.

Since 2013, we used standard double action camera stabilizer arms on the first EXHAUSS exoskeletons. The extra length goes sideways and tends to be rather cumbersome.
The idea of the 2015 model is to stow the extra length where it’s less bothering and keep the operator as “compact” as possible:

PS: “Wieldy”-like companies: this is patented, thank you!

Pierre, liked your PS. Is happening everywhere in all fields. To bad they get allowed at NAB or other European fairs with a booth. Gives me impression they somehow become legit if they appear there like they are part of the industry. And If the industry does not protects itself who else ?

Pierre, liked your PS.

Long story short about "Wieldy": this guy came to our booth at IBC last september, presenting himself as an operator desperately in need of our first model of exoskeleton for an important shooting in Hong Kong:

We felt it would have been nothing less than racism to refuse to sell a unit, out of the fear of a copy, all because he is chinese.
Well, this guy appears to run this “Wieldy” company and just lied to us with the project of slavishly copying our “Most Innovative Product IBC 2014”!

And when I say “slavishly”, I mean "slavishly”. Down to the dumbest detail. Including naming the product an ExDskeleton, because he thought ExOskeleton is a brand...

Anyway, slavishly copying leave them 2 years behind with a 20kg thing. And be sure 20kg on your back is just unacceptable...

Can't you sue them?

Pierre! If i were having a business to participate to trade fairs etc i would video record all the people coming at the stand. Also good to do at this kind of exhibition is go around the exhibition with a small video camera, ask for visit cards etc. I know somebody from the industrial design business who managed to spot the guy who copied his design by looking at these recordings and now he is gonna go to court. Basicaly all the guys that want to copy will be there. There is no way you will not spot it after. I also know the bicycle business very well and is the same. All chinese guys come to these fairs with photo and video cameras and they film and photograph everyrhing. No racism whatsoever but some of these guys should not be allowed at NAB. People with no will for developement and only willing to copy must be excluded. You should express your opinion to the NAB organizers because you are paying rent for the space their and they should provide something in return.

This is the smartest, most advanced and best- looking exoskeleton I've seen. Do not support the ripoff companies. You will be giving your dollars to thieves for an inferior product... then you'll end up buying this one down the road anyway. Save up your money and buy the best. Pierre has raised the bar. Literally! Bravo sir!

And by the way, I predict the death of the Easyrig. I've owned two of them and they are cumbersome and very limited in their ability. They had a good run, but that's yesterdays tech... The Exoskeleton is now.

It isn't even a contest regardless of the ethics. The model the Wieldy folks have shown is already "old tech" with too many flaws. This thing continues to blow my mind. Looking forward to more pics and video just to feed my excitement before I can get my hands on mine.

Should be the 'Un-Wieldy' - LOL.

Thought the Wieldy looked familiar. Either way it's good to know we'll be getting the cutting edge tech. Thanks for clearing up the origins of pirated goods.

I have been saying this form years ago, after first trying out a Military grade Exo form Israel... Easy what??

Extremely happy we finally have great Exo design for our Industry.

Oh man these look great! Can't wait to see a video of them in action. I'm a little bummed about the delay, was hoping to use these on a shoot in Singapore at the end of March.
