  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

What can't wiring payment instructions be posted here instead of through personal messages? The PM route doesn't seem to be doing the job.
You get your own reference # that's why. It'll keep your deposit from getting mixed up is my guess.

To those who got their knickers in a twist over not being able to pay by credit card....

I don't think Pierre's being rude, in Brooklyn we call that being up front. He made a good faith effort to receive payment via credit card and for reasons explained it didn't work. So please could you chill and not dissuade folks from joining our party. As much as wire is a POA, I'm fine with it if it means getting almost half off retail and earlier. We made up our minds to go through with this, so we don't need the claptrap on what good deal he's getting for all the beta testing. It's like saying Red should've been given out their first run for free - on that was a true beta run. So please enough already. As someone who used to buy and sell gear, I too went the wire or cash model after getting screwed by charge backs and paypal, so I get it.

In the meantime, Pierre, my wire's been sent earlier today.

Thanks

...an air of impatience with the customers... pay like they do everywhere else, with every other vendor... they are not charging L'aigle a dime (!) ... a little more respect

Indeed, I didn’t meant for one second to be rude. On the contrary, I find that we all, Carey, all of you participants in this GB, us at L’AIGLE, managed to keep it on a very friendly, positive, gentlemen basis.

And suddendly comes someone out of the blue, not part in this GB in any way, trying to ruin the party: Daniel, I’m sure you have your reasons, but (for once!) let’s keep this here nice and positive.

I explained that under the very unique terms and conditions of this GB, Paypal or CC methods were not available. But that people who prefer their everyday way of buying things are absolutely welcome to wait a few months to consider purchasing the exoskeleton from a reseller like they would normally do. That’s all.

Bank coordinates were sent to everyone who placed an order on the online shop on time, without being able to deposit via Paypal anymore, before december 31st. This was the GroupBuy deadline (already extended once from the 17th to the 31st). On the 1st of january, the link for this GB has been shut down.
So the final list ends at 96 (Paul Morgan, you’re in again!)

I'll be heading to my bank today or tomorrow to pay my deposit. I'll keep you posted if I hit any issues. First time bank/wire transfer for me here in Canada.

I was in the second group and included in the GB. I was sent a link to pay the deposit, and tried to pay in due time but as we know this link did not work. We where then told to wait. I then tried to obtain info on how to wiretransfer, but no answer. Please explain why I am excluded through no fault of my own?

Friends, it is a bit of a shame that we missed the next price tier by 4 units. I have an idea-

I have been involved a lot in shooting in Colombia and Cuba recently and both countries have outstanding young artists that are lacking in gear. I am sure that many in this group buy have other locations that could also use something like this for young artists.

My thought is if we all kicked in 100 euros or so we could buy 4 of these units to go to worthy groups, and in crossing the threshold to the next tier we would each pay less for our unit, making it a personal wash.

I don't know if Carey or Pierre would find this attractive or worth the hassle, and I don't want to add to the pressure of final production, but, if Pierre agrees, leave it up to him to do this at the end of the run, and let him choose the beneficiaries from the submissions of people in this group, giving his company props for donating to a useful cause.

Thanks for listening,

Scott

Scott - if the pricing ends up below the 100 level, with all that's gone on, I'd be more concerned with dropping below the 85 unit price than I am about pitching in extra. :-(

Everyone who is not on the list on post #816 is good. Nothing more to do.
Others are welcome to struggle a little with bank transfers – or just renounce! No hard feelings!

Thanks Pierre, but I have not received instructions yet. I'm fine to "struggle a bit with bank transfers" :) and just need the information to do so. How much to send? Where to? What's the banking info? etc...

I have sent you and Carey PMs just now, and am reiterating my public support for this project for the 3rd or 4th time. I just need to know how to send you money. My email address is in the PM.

I know you need to wait until the dust settles for the final list, but when will that be? I would also really appreciate a clear indication of when orders will actually be shipping. There were estimates of 20-per-week starting in January, but how accurate is that now that we're 2 weeks into january? Can we please get a calendar date for shipments to start, and an updated estimate of quantity per week?

Thanks again!

I wouldn't want to sound rude (to anyone who is not part of this GB and passing by - just kidding Daniel).

But the last two weeks of posts look blurry, because of a few people asking how to get around the rules we set together.

Let me put this straight :
The online shop was up and running, as planned, on december the 10th to receive deposits. It was to be open for 1 week.
But then Carey asked to let it open until the 31st. We agreed.
Paypal started to freeze the account on the 19th. (If everybody had paid their deposits during the originally agreed timeframe, no payment issue would have occured).
Anyway, from then on, people continued to place their orders either by Paypal (then got a refund, but their orders stand still), or just ticking "payment by wire transfer" while shopping without actually paying any deposit (some of them until this day...). But their orders are registrered alright.

This list of 96 orders is our final list.

Now in order to keep this Group Buy straight and neat, I would like to ask everyone who has not placed an order on time to send to Carey and I PM's asking to fill spots if any becomes available.
And please, possibly refrain from asking inside this thread for a seat.
David Carstens offered his seat on board (you will get your refund tomorrow David).

Thank you for your help keeping this pleasant (I understand that it's harsh with Groupbuys).

The production is in progress. For now it's not a very sexy stage: molds are being manufactured. The factory promisses the first parts for the 31st. Pictures will follow right away! Lead time is announced for february the 12th. Little longer than planned, but it's worth the wait. We look forward to showing you the last design of the scapula and the exoarms...

I am not complaining nor asking for any changes. However, I would hope to get clarification of details just so I/we know exactly what it is we can expect.

What is the exact, final price of the group buy? We are obviously well over 85 and it seems that some people would like to commit and feel they should have been included. That's mostly an individual thing except for the fact that would seem to affect the price if we could have otherwise reached to 100 level.

Will we have until AFTER we see final photos to commit our final payment.
Do we have an estimate of shipping charges to the U.S.?
Can we still count on a two week return period with full refund (less shipping charges)if we are unsatisfied with the final product for any reason?

I can't answer all of your questions Terry, but I can assure you that the refund policy will not change.

Looking forward to see the product roll out! Must find a good solution to power the Epic on the Ronin thoe. Come on Austin Glass, develop some soft AC cables too!

on 31th dec i tried to pay but encountered the problem mention below in my post from the same date.

Hi. Right now the link to the deposit is to a €2950 payment!

I am guessing this is wrong?

I will wait with my deposit until, this is resolved?

In the post below mine Pierre writes that a CC option with be programmed in the following days, but that didnt happen.

I received no wiretransfer details.

I honestly dont feel that I got a fair chance to pay, and now I am excluded from the GB.

I think me and a few other people are in the same situation, and we are just shy of 100 units...

I am not happy at all!

Please respond, Pierre or Carey
