  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Carey - I have to compliment you on how well this has gone. The product seems to have gotten better even as the group buy price has improved from the original. A masterful job on your part. To be perfectly honest, at the beginning, I thought it pretty likely that I would drop out before it was over. Now... not a chance.

And just to be clear... the initial 100 in will have 7 days to claim their spot with a deposit... after which spots will go to the alternates?

No. You will have 7 days to pay your deposit. If you fail to pay your deposit within 7 days, you will drop to the bottom of the top 100. You will still be in the group buy until you drop out voluntarily, or you fail to pay your deposit by the time units start to ship. Alternates will take the place of anyone who decides to drop out of the group buy or fails to pay their deposit by the time units start to ship (approximately 6 weeks from when deposits are collected).

Thanks Terry. I have learned a lot through trial and error from running group buys over the years. I think I have it down to a science now :)

Have we yet figured out how the conversion from euro to dollars will go? Euro currently = $1.25 but who will do the actual conversion?

Thanks.

Also, if we choose paypal, will we be charged the credit card fee or will they take the bill for that?

Hey Carey,
Nice job coordinating this. I know that it takes quite a bit of time dedicated to answering questions and communicating with the manufacturer. It looks like this has really come along during the development stages. Looking forward to having one. Thanks again.

OMG, looks well worth the wait.
Aloha

Darn. Sure wish I had gotten in. You snooze, you lose.

Hi Carey,

Can I get my name added to the alternates?

Fingers-crossed,

Yean

So does that mean we'll be able to see the final production unit this Wednesday?

I'd really like to know there is a finished design with some pics and detail before $ goes out. Ha - nuff said.

Thanks Carey

Here are some answers to some of the questions that have been asked by Redusers (answered by Pierre, owner of L'Aigle):

Q. Do the new elastic arms eliminate the vertical movement of my body/arms when walking?

A. You can inform the Redusers that it’s going to be springs and not tensioners. I think most people will appreciate, although our latex tensioners arms are just among the best on earth. But tensioners won’t fit inside the new design tubes. And yes, the exoarms will absorb the walking effect, provided the operator is relaxed enough inside the suit (if too tense, his own arms would put walking effect in the picture).

Q. Have we yet figured out how the conversion from euro to dollars will go? Euro currently = $1.25 but who will do the actual conversion?

A. The markets exchange rate of the day of payment will give the actual conversion.

Q. Also, if we choose paypal, will we be charged the credit card fee or will they take the bill for that?

A. As agreed, the buyer bears all bank commissions or Paypal commissions. I think we are offering the best possible deal for Redusers now.

The great thing about this group buy is that NO ONE is obligated to to buy the product if they decide not to. There is no obligation of any kind.

I personally think I've gotten you all an amazing deal for such an essential piece of gear for anyone who shoots with a gimbal.

If you are not happy with this incredible pricing, you are free to drop out of the group buy. There are many people in line waiting to take your place.

To put things in perspective, just compare the price of this Exoskeleton to a high quality steadicam arm and vest.

It's beyond generous, what Pierre is offering us for this revolutionary product.

Let's not nitpick the small PayPal fees.

I said I would reach the best possible deal, and we have. Let's all be thankful for the price I've managed to negotiate for us and all of the design improvements that have come about because of this group buy.

Expecting the manufacturer to pay your exchange fees is entirely unprecedented. When you buy something with a price listed in a currency not your own, you should expect that you will be responsible for exchanging it.

Hi Carey,Well now that my Dragon ambitions are off the table, I think I better get one of these instead. Can you put me down under the Alternatives? Thanks and thanks again for doing this.
