  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Carey, please add me to the list of alternatives.

Hi Carey,

Can you please put me down on the list for one? (I know it's alternates at this point). You had said "6 weeks from the moment the group buy ends (October 31st, 12:01 am Eastern). This is written in stone. No missed deadlines, excuses or dogs eating anyone's homework here." can you please confirm that these will be shipping Dec. 12th? We want to use this for a project over the holidays (Dec. 26-31) in NYC.

Thanks!

- Ivan.

Sorry, I wrote that (in stone) when I started the group buy for the original L'Aigle Exoskeleton, before it was redesigned. Now that it is being redesigned, it may be a bit longer., since this is a different product... Since no money has exchanged hands, we can't really nail them down to a schedule and expect them to keep it. Just know that they are working as quickly as they can to get this product perfected, tested and shipped.

Thanks Carey.

Redesigning the product and not holding to the stone-solid December timeline does feel a little like "dogs eating homework" :) I get that it's for the good of the end-product, but maybe they'll re-draft the idea again next week, pushing us into February? That's part of the issue with Kickstarter & pre-release stuff like this, I guess...

I'm not actually upset here (hence the smiley), just making a point that this is a bit of a warning sign. Without info about when we can start using a product, and by extension, what projects we can recoup money on, it's tougher to make a call.

I see huge potential for this tool, and am very excited to see what comes of it. Thanks.

This is not by anymeans a complaint or "a bit of a warning sign" Maybe the final 100 list could be opened up a little since there's a deadline adjustment...it shouldn't be written in stone ;) anyhow, just curious as to when the alternate list can become an option...

The deadline will not change too much from originally anticipated, the Exoskeleton itself, however, will.
Btw, the alternates have a very good chance of getting in on the deal :)

Update:

1. We plan on opening the shop to accept deposits around Wednesday of this week.

2. Here is a video of the latest prototype. Note: this is a prototype and not the final production model, so please do not come to any conclusions about the design of the product based on this video. I think it's important to focus on the reactions of the people who test the Exoskeleton.

You will have 7 days to pay your deposit in order to retain your spot in line AFTER you've had the opportunity to see the final production unit with all new design changes.

So does that mean we'll be able to see the final production unit this Wednesday?

Looks promising! Do the new elastic arms eliminate the vertical movement of my body/arms when walking or are they only reducing the weight of the gimbal? They look quiet different in comparison to a steadicam arm. I would like to see some camera footage of an operator that is walking/running. Many thanks for your help, Carey.

And just to be clear... the initial 100 in will have 7 days to claim their spot with a deposit... after which spots will go to the alternates?
