  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Hey Carey.

I just saw the updates / revisions to the product. I have to say these address most of the issues I had with the original design that kept me from saying yes.

"2. The newly designed hands Interface will replace the existing forearm interface."

This is a big deal for me personally. I am very curious to see the solution for the issue of not being able to use your hand to control the camera. This one alone was the major deal breaker. So I'm thrilled it's being redesigned. If the new design solves this issue to a large degree that will put this ahead of the competition by leaps and bounds.

I'm still curious about the performance of the bands in cold weather...

But these changes are enough for me to jump in providing the changes make me smile enough.

So... "I'm in"

Again, thanks for your work. And I hope you're finally feeling a bit better.

Thanks Jim. And don't worry about the bands... 100 out of 30, 000 have had to be replaced. I like those odds.
And yes, the design changes will make you smile from ear to ear. Thanks for joining!

Update: I've been shooting with the M15 for about 3 hours today, and I have to say, unequivocally, that an exoskeleton is not just a fancy add-on gadget to a gimbal, but it is the necessary counterpart. It is the peanut butter to the jelly.

I refuse to shoot a feature without using an exoskeleton.

I'm strong dude, but on a long shoot, it would be nearly impossible to use on nearly every shot.

These gimbals are HEAVY AS HELL.

I don't care who you are, if you own a gimbal with a heavy set up, you must have and exoskeleton to go along with it. You can take my word for it, and get in on this group buy now, and save yourself some money, or you can discover it for yourself later, and pay more for your exoskeleton later.

Either way, if you own a gimbal with a Red or similar camera, you will be buying an exoskeleton. It's not a matter of "if", but "when", and there's no better time than now.

..hmm..how do you know...have you seen them..?

No. But I'm in close contact with Pierre and he's a perfectionist, like me. He's been doing exoskeletons before his competitors. He has a head start. He knows what needs improvement, and he's working hard to implement these improvements. Again, it's a no-lose scenario. No money exchanges hands until you've seen the final version. So, will improvements to an already proven exoskeleton make you smile? It will me. :)

Alright I think I'm in for a third one at the moment.. We have four MoVI's and I'm thinking I'd rather get a third on the group buy than have to add it on later.

I could not agree more with this statements Carey!!

I have been shooting Gimbals since their very first appearance in the Industry, since the days of the bigger and much heavier Gyro Stabilizers and later the MiniGyro, and then one of the very first to play with the Movi, the Brushless Gimbal that in one way or an other has truly revolutionized the industry again first!

The coming of better and better and more affordable Gimbals has now put them in the hands of thousands, myself been a Beta tester for the DJI Ronin, and now having had the Ronin on a large number of productions, and in the hands of small and BIG to VERY BIG guys, I can say that you are absolutely right... There is NO WAY that any one can operate a Gimbal with a camera set up similar to the Epic/Scarlet for prolonged periods of times unless AIDED by some sort of support system.

And in all honesty while there are more then one support system suitable for the Gimbals, and there is no one that can do it all to cover all shooting situations, I also by far favor the Exoskeleton system to all others, because I have tried them and know how much more support they can give and more control which seem some how more natural with an Exoskeleton then any other support system coming from above via cable.

Now as far as Pierre's system is concerne I can say in support of what Carey's words, that this system is now shaping up to be a really bad ass system and YES I have seen it and touched in person... Some people will be very pleasantly surprised to see what L'Aigle has been up to and yes, Pierre is a perfectionist, one that might come off to be more of German blood then French when it comes to engineering parts, and making things come together mechanically, so rest assure that what will come out as the final production run of the l'agile Exoskeleton will be stunning looking and working like a charm with just about all options that you would won't to have to properly work with your Gimbals!

PS: Great job here on this GB too, as always Carey, and we know how NOT easy can be and time consuming organizing and running a GB, so Cudos to you buddy for your patience and effort!!

Count me in for one please.

Cheers
