  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Kessler Shuttle Dolly

Shuttle Dolly use special rails or can use common aluminum rails from supermarket?

The main quastion of course is How smooth is Shuttle Dolly according to Danna Dolly, because everybody say good review about Danna Dolly but Shuttle Dolly is looking more interesting and futuristic, but the main question is of course is How smooth is it. Maybe somebody see some test footage?

You can use any rails from 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" in diameter. Again, they are releasing their new break apart rail system shortly, which also can be used as the legs of the Shuttle Dolly.

I've been getting a lot of PM's about their track. I just spoke with Kessler regarding the track, and they still don't have an ETA...just said it's coming soon. Also, they are not sure if they will be able to extend the 15% off accessories discount to their track, but they will let me know as soon as they know for sure.

While I haven't actually tested their track outside of NAB, what I did see at NAB was great. It breaks down, can act as the dolly support (legs) as well, and really makes the dolly more versatile. Will keep you guys posted

Maybe is it possible to ask somebody to make some test about smooth movement.
I see the hard wheels and I am some worry about smoothness with these hard wheels.

To be honest, this is Kessler. They don't make cheap products but they don't release ones that aren't great. Pretty certain you can trust they have the right wheels on the dolly for the smoothest movement. Unless you test it yourself no video is going to show you how smooth or rough the rails are and so how smooth the wheels are.

Hey Chris,
I already have Kessler Shuttle Dolly not to long ago, can existing Dolly owners still take an advantage of 15% off discount (on keeper grabber wheels, hard case, motorization options, etc). If yes please add me.

Cheers

It's smooth...guaranteed my friend. I have a bunch of content I've shot with it, just can't show it yet.

Exactly!

Yup...you can get in on that since you're already an owner!

This is by far better than the dana dolly. It has a wider stance which makes it more stable, especially when doing pans. The rubber feet allow you to shoot on the ground (just have to take the stand adapters off). The built in handles on the sled along with the bowl adapter screwing in makes it a lot easier to move around on set which is a huge time saver. It is heavier than the Dana Dolly but I've never had anyone complain about that.

This is 100% smoother than the dana dolly. The polyurethane wheels are no joke. I've used a wide range of weight and it is always butter smooth. No soft spots and never micro vibrations. In my opinion, I get amazing results with 1 1/4" speed rail.

The speed rail from Film Tools is 1-1/4" 6061-T6 Aluminum. Find a local warehouse in your area, or closest to you, and order from there. I prefer the 5' length and when I rent a grip truck, I make sure to have 10' and 12'

I've had this since NAB and absolutely love it. Happy to answer any other questions I can.

One of this most attractive things about the pricing on these is the free shipping! Ben, would you say there is any probably with flex in the 6 foot lengths? 12 foot? Can they handle the weight of a Kessler dolly + reasonable RED setup? Thanks.
