  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How are the lights working out for everyone? Daylight color good? Output meet expectations? Ease of use?
 
Anyone know if these are shipping out yet? I have a shoot in a couple weeks that I'd love to use these on!
 
Pete is going to update us today. Target ship date was "before NAB" . . . still got a couple days to go ;-)

The very first post announcing this group buy says 'around the NAB time-frame' - not 'before NAB'. But, we will begin shipping before NAB. It will take us about two weeks to pack and ship all the orders. So some orders will ship after NAB.

As promised here is the interview I recorded of Pete while using his Hexolux lights at his lab. Just for the record, I used his lights in the field after recording this interview. I posted the review in previous posts of how well they performed in the field and how I felt about the new technology. I remain a fan and feel that there is nothing in this interview of Pete that is misleading. I recorded with an Epic and an Apple ProRes recorder that day. However you will see that I recorded him as the sun was setting and as the light was changing. In this case the dialog never stopped and the lighting was hardly affected by the window off his camera right. What can I say, I love his lights. The illuminator is a solid state HMI. I can't wait to own enough to gang them with a few left for fill and background. For now 3 D7s will handle 90% of my talking heads set ups.

I just saw their stuff at NAB...guys...let me tell you...those lights kick ass and their price/performance/value is amazing! We need another group buy for those!!!! :)
