GROUP BUY - DJI Ronin R2

Hey Chris, what is the deadline for payment? We are flying back into town next week, and have to lineup payment then. Thanks!

Get your payment in ASAP!

Yea guys. Regarding the ReadyRig Code. Read the entire message please.

Hi,

just got mine, but 2 batteries are missing. I ordered 3 extra batteries. Do they deliver them later? I already contacted them, but as I know DJI support in germany, they'll answer in 1-2 weeks. So I'm asking here too.

Regards

I just got a notice that my R2 has shipped this is after receiving my batteries yesterday. Manfred consider your self lucky. For some reason it seems the opposite here in the States. A bunch of us got the extra batteries and now waiting for the gimbal.

Hi, made the mistake of attempting to have shipment sent to Production office I'm working out of while I'm on location next several months rather than to home, which is credit card billing address. May help others to know, DJI does not seem to accept credit card payments unless billing address is same as shipping address, regardless of which shipping address or how many you include in your DJI registration profile. (Don't know if anyone has had similar experience. Not a knock or criticism, just a heads up.)

Only recourse for me is to cancel the order, wait 7-10 business days, and then to re-order with the GB code specifying billing address as ship to address. Hopefully the DJI system will then accept payment, and redirect to different shipping address after payment confirmed and DJI sales contacted about the change.

From this have learned the GB code is (as per on line chat contact) valid until 11/17.

No code for inspire?
No news on X7?
Can we get an update on what to expect? I'm in it for all of them as a set, not just the R2...

Did Soren not respond to you regarding the inspire code delay?

X7 will be a ways out, if there even is a GB for that.

Hi guys,

just wanted to put everything on the Ronin 2, but already found some obstacles...maybe i’m Just too stupid:
I was only able to mount the d-tap breakout Adapter under the Ronin (which seems a little dangerous for low mode) or on the back of the base I/o module. The cable is also blocking the tilt axis. The L-form of the power cable is somehow weird. See attached photos. Also the lattitude is coming in the way of the top mount and taking a lot of space. I just ordered a side cheese plate to mount the lattitude on the side. The cam is also to high to use the top mount (its in all axis stabylized). Is it bad if I dont use the top mount?

You should have plenty of space both width and height wise. There are multiple adjustment points on the height, my guess is you’re adjusting them wrong and think your maxed out on the height when you really aren’t.

Also, the R2 has built in extenders on the main arms...so you can extend it out if you’re hitting in the rear. Or, just adjust the cam on the baseplate to give you more room.

yep...found it online...it's not explained in the manual how to do it. CVP Video showed it, but got it working without. Gimbal motors are at 1 / 0 / 0 capacity. Perfectly ballanced on all axis. Sadly I cant mount the Puppeteer on it, since the top handle is made out of one piece....or did i missed smth here? Would be great to detach the front of the top handle as on ronin 1.

Yep seen that video...I just went without the top mount, cause most of the time we switch from gimbal to handheld and for that I need the Swat Rail on top to just slide in the Top Handle with monitor. The setups look a little too complicated for fast changes. Maybe I'll power the cam through the gimbal, but accessories through a V-Mount plate on the back of the cam with one of reds mini V-Mounts. Does this work? If so I just could take the cam of from the ronin and just need to detach the power cable from the cam.

There should be clear info on inspire kit and code. There should also be clear info on X7. There is neither. I'm getting vague and seemingly conflicting info from different sources. Would be great to post a thorough and clear update here with details of 1. Inspire kit 2. Camera options 3. Code and payment dates 4. Relation to R2 dates/GB.

Yep. Read the whole thing. There is definitely no ready rig code in my message. I'll try to contact him.

My Ronin 2 came in yesterday. In the past 24 hours only way to describe it as "fucking amazing" if you ever used a m10 or m15 then tried a movi pro for the first time. Thats basically what its like, its a huge improvement not just with DJI but in gimbals in general. It's defiantly a improvement over using a movi pro. I'm very happy that I held off from getting the pro to see what DJI had in store. And for once, I feel the gimbal technology is finally there and the self life before it gets outdated is worth the investment.

The only issues I had so far is seems like when you trigger record from the joystick it freezes the camera. Seems like a firmware issue on RED's side. The other issue was the 15mm support they provided. So I don't know if I'm doing the wrong but here are the photos.

This is the 15mm support the package comes with.

When you install the 15mm support on the dovetail it raises the height of the camera a little too much if your running a top plate like the wooden camera smart plate.

So my solution was to just get the 15mm support that mounts directly to the dovetail. And that saved a lot of space.
