  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - CoreSWX HYPERCORE Mini and Slim Batteries

Of course this comes along 2 weeks after I just bought a couple of these batteries and the shark fin. Timing was never my strongest skill... :mellow:

Also, not wanting to derail your group-buy, but these are on today B&H Hot deal, another 12 hours to go, 2x HCM 9R + upright charger, for $499... that's pretty damn cheap.
 
Does anyone know if Core's RED-specific batteries work seamlessly on other cameras and devices? Can I pop it on the back of an Alexa or Sony or Litepanels Astra if I need to, or are there compatibility issues?

Hey M Harvey,

Great question. Yes, the HCM-9R battery will work with other cameras and devices but the battery data/% will not show on Sony and Arri cameras. If you want battery data/% compatibility on RED cameras and other brands, the HCM-9S is the better option. Here's the breakdown:

HCM-9R: Communicates battery data to DSMC1 and DSMC 2 cameras
HCM-9S: Communicates battery data to DSMC2 and other cameras that support SMBus communication (Sony, Arri, Panasonic, etc).
