  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Core SWX EVO Battery Backup Module

Anyone having problems with their DSMC2 EVO? Mine does not power the camera once I screw everything down (as it makes the pins lose connection somehow).

*EDIT* solved my problem. I was tightening down the bottom screws too tight, and it seemed to be pulling the pins away from the connection. So now I just have them finger tight, and the EVO seems secure on the back of the camera.

Is anyone else still waiting on an invoice? We're 11 days after close, and 3 days til payment due. Seems a bit close

After a minor shipping mishap, finally got mine and tried it out on set a few days ago. Awesome product. Thanks again for this group buy! I haven't tried out the Mod24 adapter yet, but really looking forward to having that extra DC In port for my ol' DSMC1 Dragon!

How do you install the DSMC2 Evo module on the camera!?
Do you really have to unscrew the two small allen screws wich are on the module?
I don't see any user manual.

Thanks for your input and any "tightening" advises.

Hi Patrick,

Sorry I havent' checked the forum too much lately. You've got to unscrew the small allen keys on the top left and right sides, and then two more on the bottom and it will release that frame it grabs onto. Then you install the frame on the jetpack and tighten up those allen screws and you are set. I hope it works better for you mine did, which I ended up swapping for a couple of regular EVO's.

I cound't mount it as I didnt get the screws...
You say that the desing is the problem and you couldn't mount it to your camera?
Anyone with success?

The screws were missing from mine as well...and the Battery plate was not properly mounted pinching the cables. This is as it arrived.

They shipped me the screws finally, and I fixed the poor job of mounting the plate...but the bigger issue is that 95% of our BNC Cables won't fit on the RED Base Expander BNC output with the EVO attached. This is an absolute deal breaker...cant use the damn thing

I generally like their products, when they work, but they have some QC issues. I have two of their brand new Quantum touchscreen chargers. One was DOA. They swapped it out and they said it worked perfectly when they received it. That tells me that something was probably not secured properly internally. Now I have issues with most of my (CoreSWX)batteries not charging on certain positions on the two Quantum chargers I have now, but they all charge perfectly on one of their older chargers and every single A/B charger I own. I will say that communication is usually good with them, when you do have issue.
