  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Core SWX EVO Battery Backup Module

Hey Ivan,

The P-Taps and DC outputs on the EVO are active as long as the internal pack is charged, an onboard battery is mounted, or an AC/DC source is plugged into the DC input on the EVO. Your Teradek will remain powered during a battery hot swap when plugged into the EVO's DC outputs.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Thanks Zack, please bare with me, I just want to make sure I'm following...

Scenario is: the EVO is charged, no AC adapter is plugged in, I have the Teradek powered from the d-tap port on the EVO plate, and there is a dying v-lock batter on the back-end of the chain.

1) The EVO will continue to provide power to that d-tap port while I swap in a fresh v-lock?

2) The voltage draw spike when the Red (Scarlet-W / Dragon-X) camera boots up won't draw so much power that the d-tap ports temporarily can't power the Teradek?

Thanks for getting into the weeds here ;)

Hey Ivan!
The EVO will continue to power anything plugged into its D-Tap during a hot swap. The EVO can handle 20A discharges, so no worries on overdrawing or losing power during hot swaps.

Thanks!

Is the group discount dependent on the EVO Battery Backup Module? What I mean is I’m interested in buying some Hypercore NEO 9 Mini 3-Stud batteries and wondering if I would have to order the backup module in order to get a discount on the Neo 9 Mini batteries.

Is the rear battery plate user-replaceable? For example to change between V-mount and Gold mount?

Hey Eric,

To qualify for the 20% discount for add-ons, an EVO must be purchased.

Thanks!

Hey Kevin,

The battery plate is technically interchangeable; however, the warranty would be void if done outside of our service department.

Can anyone suggest a power supply and appropriate cable that I could use to input house power to my gold mount evo with Mod 24?
