  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY: Cinegears Wireless Follow Focus Christmas Special!

Great News guys our new motor is finally here!!!!!

And what does this motor offer that the other one doesn't? Price point? Actually shipping yet? Could you maybe offer a trade-in program for people to send you the older motors for the new ones for an extra fee? I know a lot of people may really appreciate it.

The new motor
1. Surge protection so that customized cable can be used now (neg/positive)
2. Heat sensor that will put motor in protection mode to stop motor from over heating
3. Setup installation protection - if motor gears are not parallel or smugly in place of lens gears, motor will go into protection mode
4. Reduce damping time
5. Trigger plug is on the side for more convenience

Say when :-)

I'm up for this as long as I can get the replacement rings for the upgraded controller I received last November.

I was one of the first to purchase the single kit back in August.

I received five in total (due to some minor issues) back then.

When I received my upgraded controller the original rings did not work on it.

I asked for the replacement and to date none were received.

Ive been using the old controller while the new one is collecting dust.

Steven, if I send this old controller/rings and motor back (plus $100) will be I be able to get my rings along with the new motor?

If I order a Cinegear follow focus system today will that automatically be the new improved motor or is the a separate choice? In that case what i the name of the new motor/product?

I have another question to for the users. Im trying to decide If I should go with the cinegear follow focus or the microRemote Wireless from Redrock micro. The main reason Im looking at Redrock micro is to later go for the halo system. What experiences to you have with the redrock micro system? How does it compare to the cine gear? As this will most likely clutter this thread, so drop me a pm.

Many thanks,
Joel Arvidsson

Hi Eric,

I apologize for late response. It has been hectic over here due to the high demand in our products.

Yes please send us the items and motor.

Hi Joel,

Unless there is a specific request all shipment will contain new motors. Unfortunately, there is no new name for the motor. It is still under the same name as the older version.

Several questions -

#1 Does the new motor solve the Lag/damping issue?

#2 where Should one send their old motor and what is the turn around time?

#3 Is the new motor a replacement for the hi-torque the standard or both?

I have my Hi- torque motor I would like to trade in if the new motor solves the old issues and is as powerful.

Thanks,

Nick Gardner

Hi guys, were not suppose to talk about customer support on our products relating to business transactions and etc in public forum. In addition, I cannot guarantee that I am on the forum daily which can delay the response time. However, if you have any questions please email support@cinegears.com and our support team can help deal with any request or issues. Or brian@cinegears.com our customer service representative.

Thanks guys I hope you guys are enjoying your Cine Gears

@ Steven - Can you please address Nick's ?'s

Please make sure that your motor is in good working condition.
Thanks

Sorry, not sure what you are pointing me to on the DIYfilmtools website. My question has to do with the $400 price difference I paid for the Extreme motor upgrade. Is there a way to trade in for the non-extreme version but also to be compensated for the extra cost?

My motor is in like-new condition. Been stuck in bed most of the past few months dealing with medical issues so my Cinegears FF never got used except once to test. But I'm getting better these days and now I'm looking forward to getting out there shooting this summer!

Is the upgrade motor the same weight as the original?
