  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY: Cinegears Wireless Follow Focus Christmas Special!

I see I may be too late, but please count me in if it's not.
Express plus, with standard motor.
Best,
Scott

Yeah,
My question related to the shipping cost, as if coming from Rock Steadi then i don't understand why its 100 Dollars?
If its coming from overseas them we will be billed Import Duty + VAT + courier handling fee.
So i am slightly confused, which my wife says is normal :)
Basically just want the clarification as i was under impression from previous question asked that it would be doing vid Rocki Steadi hence no customs etc.

Andrew.

This group buy is oprated by Cinegears, Local dealers will not have the same deal, $100 addtional shipping cost is from DHL, we will make sure you will get the equpment without addtional cost.

I appreciate that but as stated by others if we receive a bill from Customs, it will be for Import Duty + Vat + handling, which could be more than the discount, hence nullifying it.
Earlier in the thread it was mentioned coming from UK, sorry if i sound like a PITA, but the Customs charge can be hefty and random at times. Got hit today for a 400 dollar item, charge was £68.80, around $107.88. effectively over a 1/4 of the price.

Andrew.

So as we go into the ordering process, does anyone know why you would need the longer brackets? (What kind of camera setup?) I'm guessing that if your 15mm rods are 85mm below lens center (standard matte box height), these would be unnecessary. Yes? Anyone have knowledge or experience?

I don't believe you guys will have to pay any customs fees...Steven, can you please clarify.

You should be fine with the standard setup as it offers quite a bit of height flexibility.

I'm trying to decide whether to order the Sony battery holder. How long does the internal lithium battery in the controller last?

EU costumers will most likely pay up to 1/4 of the price in customs(I paid $166 on a $599 shipment last week), thats why I also asked for shipping from the UK, but apparently thats not possible?

I paid last night, and i am hoping they stick to there word that we won't pay any more charges or i won't be best pleased, as it will be a chunk of change if we do get hit. Equally i was under the impression from what was said that it would have been shipped from UK. Time will tell i guess.....

16 hour shoot days had to charge it during lunch.

Never dies.

Yeah I did some checking for Australia and we get hit hard :( 10% GST and 5% Duty taxes, plus the currency conversion rate (bank has it at around 78c per US $1) so in the end our $500 discount is nullified :( hoping to find a better conversion rate somewhere!

In terms of the battery...you shouldn't need a Sony mount. Just get one of those cheap USB chargers and you're all set. The battery is rated at 20 hours...so you shouldn't really need anything, but it's nice to have a backup.

Anyone know if this D-Tap Splitter image which is on the cinegears page that we purchase our kit from can be bought from them? I'm not sure which item it's labelled as in the options. Is it the additional power cable
?
