  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

I have 2 controllers for sale when I get them

Sorry Brandon, its very sad that your team is still forcing you to use "NEXT WEEK", since year+. its really hard to except that.

You have absolutely no idea how much has actually been accomplished, Kwan. It's taken a year, but the controllers are done and work flawlessly. There were dead-ends along the way, but when you consider this was done with 0 budget, I'm basically a volunteer, my health blew up, and nothing like this exists on the market even now, at any price, a year later... I'd say we are doing very well.

I agreed brandon (thats why decided to visit this thread once a month only - lol)
Thanks and stay strong fella'

It will be 2 years in 3 months.

Actually, no it won't. The controller project started ~14 months ago. Building products is not easy. I have a whole new respect now for people that do this. The good news is the controllers are totally done, work great, and exceed spec. Now we are dealing with logistics / supply chain stuff. No one wants this over with more than me, believe me. :)

Let's all try and be steady now. Soon we will see the light(s).

I joined in this thread later on, but it was before the idea of the controller came up. I am just curious how were people expecting to control these LED strips before hand? The original post did say fixed strips will be the easiest/fastest/cheapest way to get going. I also understand it's been a long time coming, but a lot of people here are making it sound like the strips are completely useless without the controllers. You can still power them up without a controller, sure you can't dim them without it, but there is some alternatives(Extra diffusion, ND gel, other company dimmers, etc) out there in the mean time. But like Brandon said, theres nothing else on the market at this price, and that can control the same amount of power. Even if they are useless to some people, it would still be worth it to hold on to what you have, the LED strip market is growing, and theres going to be tons of gadgets from different companies to control LED strips, and at this price, the strips are still the most affordable.

There are plenty of dimmer solutions for the strips. I've been using the crap out of them and have no controllers.

I am just checking in after a couple of months and I see that Brandon is still responding and that this project is still alive. I still support Brandon in getting this done and am patiently waiting for my lights and controls..

Thanks Brandon.

Thank you, Alan! It's very much alive! Right now we are only waiting on the manufacturer of the enclosures to send more enclosures. They should arrive Monday or Tuesday.

This is exciting. So happy to have these on a feature in the fall.

Can we get an estimated time of shipping for those of us who are at the tail of the waiting line?
Are we gonna get out kits before July or not?

thanks

I posted this on Facebook the other day:

Quick Update: The enclosures we were waiting on arrived and now the printing is being done. I will have the first finished controllers in hand next week. I will shoot demos with them immediately to show everyone. And by "finished" I mean the final printing, packaging, etc.

Sorry I didn't get post this here earlier. I've been quite busy the last week.

Miha, I can't imagine it taking that long, but I don't have hard dates right now. The controllers are 100% done, but the supply chain issues are a headache. One backordered or misordered part and things get delayed. Next week I'll have controllers and a much better idea about dates.
