  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

120fps was our target spec. Anything over that is a bonus. The delay is because it wasn't flicker free at 120fps yet. It is now.

I had several complications from the tests and medicine I was given in the hospital, so I'm still in rough shape. I may be going into the ER in the morning for a "blood patch" in my spine. The procedure sucks, but it will get me back on my feet faster.

great, sounds like 120fps will help a lot... thanks a lot for your work on this Brandon!

Wow, Brandon, you are just getting beat to hell. But, like the trusty Timex...

Take care of yourself and thanks for keeping us up to date.

Trusty Timex, indeed.

Looking forward to our new toys. . . but mostly for you to get better soon, Brandon!

Stephen

Hope you are feeling better Brandon :-)

Somewhat, but I still spend the whole day in bed. Even in bed my ears are ringing most of the day and it feels like my head is in a vice. Also having weird autonomic nervous system issues (low blood pressure, high pulse, palpitations, phantom chest pressure, etc.) That said, each day is a little better than the one before, but not by much. Feeling pretty frustrated to be honest. I'm really hoping to be back on my feet in a day or two so I can get more of your early deliveries out.

Alright guys, I'm back. Not 100%, but feeling like my old self again, finally. Tomorrow I'll start catching up on the early deliveries and your messages. Thanks again for your patience.

Good to hear! Once all the stress is out of your hands, hopefully your body will recover a bit more quickly.

Hey Brandon, this is a casual request so please do not feel any extra stress. Do you happen to have a ballpark timeline when all deliveries will be complete? Just want to get a realistic idea as to if this order will be complete this month/year. I'm not hurting to get them....just would be nice. It helps if I have a mental timeline. Before December would be great. Sooner would be better.

Thanks!

I am loving mine. I want more. These puke out huge amounts of light when driven by around 15v from an AB battery. I am using 12v power supplies that I got from a different vendor, and I have 15v supplies for some of my other LEDs. Color temp is spot on without CC gells.

I put mine on coro-plast with velcro on the back. They are less than half an inch thick and mad bright.

Nick

Hey Nick, which controller do you use? Does it only control color temp Or is it an rgb controller? Thanks!

Ah copy that. Does anyone know of a cheaper variable controller without any of the great options Brandon's has ? Just something simple that doesn't flicker at 30 frames.

I'm easing back into the workload and getting better every day. My whole weekend is dedicated to catching up on your messages and getting through the early delivery queue.

Good to hear things are heading in the right direction. Any update about controler. Do you have any kind of schedule for delivery ?

Things are definitely moving! There's a full update on the controller below:

Thank you, Michael. It will be long before that! I don't have the finished controller yet, but I will next week. A couple issues came up during QC. First the smoothness of the brightness changes became a problem after they fixed the high frame rate flicker. That required a software update, which is done now and fully tested. The second issue was a heat problem on the circuit board that came up during stress testing. This required a component change on the circuit board. That's now done as well. I'm told they will ship the sample to me either tomorrow or Monday. I should have it by Wednesday. Once I get the unit we can nail down the timeline. These delays suck, but I'm really glad they are working so hard to make the controller perfect for us. The final unit will significantly exceed the spec we were quoted and there's nothing on the market even close to this in terms of functionality. Our production run will take a couple weeks and that countdown should start next week.

Thanks for the feedback, Nick!

I've never seen a flicker free controller for less than what we are paying. 99.99% of the controllers out there will not work for film/video use. It's a niche product and always very expensive.

I submitted a bunch of orders for delivery. I'll be emailing out tracking numbers as soon as I have them.

Hi brandon,
waiting for my tracking number, any updates ?
