  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Dear Brandon,
I don't ask you to sneak anything into Europe.

The 20 item limit is a "soft limit". After 20 items the fees go up a lot. It's cheaper to break it into multiple shipments then. I don't remember the question. Are you saying you want to combine your order with other people that have ordered also and live near you to save on shipping? Logistically, this might make my head explode :)
I don't want to make your head explode! But actually I sent you a couple of emails in regard of combining shipping. And also if combining would have side effects like the mentioned soft limit. But that was at the time, where you have been to the hospital often, and I guess you missed my mails.

I don't need any more informations about the connector kits, you did sent me that. It was just an example, where some more information and documentation would have saved time. (We wrote some emails back and forth in the beginning on that topic.)

If you need a vacation, come to Switzerland!

I write to you.
Good Night!

I'm going to make a private Facebook group this weekend. It will be easier to see FAQs, documentation and examples there. So much has been buried in this thread. Working on some videos, too.

So, Lawrence and I hugged it out via email. Everything is cool. No more drama. I'm going to put together a FAQ this weekend to consolidate the info that is spread all over into one place. Hopefully this will avoid any future confusion. Lawrence is on a shoot right now, but says he will post some tips about the lights later.

So, pile in to our new Private Facebook Group. All the documentation will be there along with videos, photos, etc. I'll continue to post in this thread, but the meat of it will be in the group and it will be easier to find things there.

Is there a way to make your facebook page public? As I would like to see the info.

Hi Brandon, sent you a PM regarding picking up extra, not sure if you've seen. Just wanted to make sure it's not lost somewhere in your pile of mails. Thanks

That would be great to make it public viewing. Somewhat of anti Facebook here.

I'll play with the permissions and see what I can do. I'll email documentation out when it's done, also. Some stuff can't be public, because it's from projects I'm working on that are not released yet. Whatever can be public I will also share here.

I got your message. I'll let you know if anything is available soon.

Update

First the bad news:

The unit that was supposed to be on the way to me had a problem and they needed to bake another PCB.

The good news:

The PCB is done and the first, room temperature, full load stress test is done and... (drum roll)...the controller performed flawlessly! Tomorrow they do the last stress test and, based on the first test, they fully expect it to pass without a problem. As soon as the test is done, they are shipping the controller to me to do frame rate tests. It's expected to be somewhere between 100-150fps flicker free.

They still have some tweaks to make to optimize the software, but that won't take long. By the time I'm done with the frame rate tests, they should be done with the software.

The finish line is fast approaching and things are looking good!

Great News Brandon.

I just started to look for lights, just after your group buy ended.

Please add me to the list to pick up any cancellations, extras.

Sent a PM awhile ago, but I know you have been swamped. Open to what you might have. Would want the whole enchilada. PMing you just to make sure too.

Thanks for for all your hard work on this group buy!

The end is in sight! Great news!

Received my lights. Very Nice! Testing them out very soon :)

Is there a way to power 2 via one DTAP or is that not possible haha.

But by the way I think the shipping company is gouging us. CA to WA is not $20 for the weight of the items (should be $9.11).
And shipping in a USPS priority box would cut the price down nearly 1/2 also while not increasing the price on weight (depending on medium or large).
This is use for those who ordered a lot or are planning to. Especially with the controller shipping.

But by the way I think the shipping company is gouging us....

You're forgetting the handling fees charged by the fulfillment company. It's a couple bucks per item and it's the best option I found. I expected, maybe, 50 orders. We have over 500. There are thousands of items. I can't ship everything myself for free, I don't even have room to store it all, and there's no margin to cover the costs. Still an amazing deal...
