Hi Guys,

A few months ago I had the opportunity to use a friend's field monitor that has waveform, vector scope, audio monitoring and a lot more built in and it just looks great overall. I really want to get some for myself, but it seems they don't have any mainstream re-sellers in the US that sell online. They have been kind enough to offer special 1 time group buy, so I want to share the opportunity with you. I am not a re-seller at this time, so this is just a special deal for my forum friends. If there is enough demand, I might consider setting up something and becoming a reduser sponsor, but for now this is just a 1 time deal. Mods, please correct me if I'm out of line.

There are many models available including 3G-SDI with a 3D LUT in the monitor, or a SDI to HDMI converter that allows you to have waveform etc. on any monitor. Browse their website to explore the models and PM me for the pricing info. They provided the re-seller price list, but I won't know the exact group discount until I give them the list of what we want.

One model that looks promising. 18.5" Rack mountable also.

I have Bon's 7" super bright HD-SDI/HDMI monitor (FM-072SCH). I saw it at the last year's NAB and I grab their sample on the floor because I really like the image quality.
It has 1,100 nits and I use it as my primary daylight steadicam monitor.

Any of their products that are currently in production are available, we are talking about a 10-15% discount. Jay, I'm glad you are familiar with them. I have a friend that grabbed their last few 5" ones off the show floor at NAB also, and that is the one I tried. Unfortunately the 5" are now discontinued. The quality is exceptional, and I especially like the signal analysis features. Check out some of their new models that are brighter and higher resolution.

Is
this the same monitor, supplied from Korea as the Ikan Md7?

Thank you very much

If the price is right, I would be interested in the FM-703SCH. It is not yet available and I didn't see a price listed on their website. Not as bright as what Small HD is coming out with, but hopefully not nearly as expensive.

Looks almost identical, although the back side has a slightly different layout. It seems BON has more selection in monitors though. I don't see the larger screen sizes on the Ikan website. They probably either share the same manufacturer, or Ikan buys private label form BON.

I believe it's the same.

Hi Bob,

Zackly. The reason I went with Ikan was related to the US market share, etc..

The Md7 worked a treat on a recent music video shoot, on my Raptor Pro.

Thank you very much

I think you mean the FM-073SCH?

Where can we get some idea of pricing on this stuff?

I was going to send that out by PM, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to post. Once I know a bit more about how much quantities are needed, I will post some more specifics on the discount rate mentioned above.

Here is a spreadsheat with the retail prices and some specs. Note: there is an OLED 7" model also that looks interesting.

Anyone else interested on BON FM-072SCH there's pretty good review here...http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=18512&p=90377

It's listed at $2300 on the BON pricing chart. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_fo81jkLciMOFh5VFJ5N2FCUDA/edit?usp=sharing

But it's online for $2000 so that's 13% discount right there alone. http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/125889986/BON_FM_072SCH_Super_bright_LCD.html
So if the group buy discount is 15%...well there's no much incentive there to buy immediately.

Steve, don't worry about the price. I am sure we can get a better deal then that. The prices on Alibaba are not necessarily exactly what you get once you contact them. It also says the last time they logged in to that site was 6 months ago. I have investigated purchasing several types of things on that site, and mileage varies. You know how MSRP is treated at big re-sellers these days, and the numbers in that spreadsheet are exactly MSRP.

My contact at BON has offered a discount that is much better then that, but there is a quantity limit at that discount. Once I know some approximate quantities, I will ask for some more firm discount numbers. I plan on trying to set up the best deal possible. If your incentive to buy is extremely price sensitive, let me know either by posting or PM what discount you would require and which models and quantity you are interested in and I will try to negotiate a deal with them.

Looks like if we can get more then 20 units, I can get the FM-072SCH monitors for $1850.

Very tempting compared to Small had day bright @ 3k...hmmm

Yes but that small hd is 1500 nits and has..................1280 X 800 resolution for $3,000

Whereas Bon FM-072SCH is 1100 nits and screen is.. 1024 X 600 for $1,850 group price @20 units

Then there is Marshall V-LCD70MD-0 at 800 nits and 1024 X 600 for under $1,000

The Marshall is rebranded and sold by steadicam so it must get something in the daylight.

Then there are the small hd OLED in the AC and DP lines that go from $1,300 to $2,300
being OLED they rate only 200 nits but they appear much brighter than that number
