  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Grid 5.0 viewfinder review.

Is Grid Accessories still functioning. I am particularly interested in http://www.gridaccessories.com/grid-side-handle-extension/ for my shoulder rig when I have a big lens on the camera is so far back that it is almost impossible to to reach the side handle and the redmote is not the most ergonomic thing to operate with a shoulder rig set up.

Yes I did! Last week! Maybe he is busy but no reply scares me since I have had my money taken out of my account.
Burt did you receive the viewfinder?
by reading this thread feeling a bit anxious now, as I paid threw paypal.

Brice-

If you paid through PayPal you're protected. Also, I've had the GRID for a bit now and works great, just be careful no to leave it on on a sunny day as it will take 3 secs to burn through your 5" touch!

Thanks for the Paypal tip Marcos.
I know the Grid and coudn't work without it, I just lost mine on a Gig last week. :(
It is always around my neck, and never let it on the screen when I move around.
It is too easy to forget in the rush to put the cap on.

Well great. Looks like the rubber ring holding the strap and sun cap clip to the body of my GRID 5.0 has broken - after several months of not even being used - due to static tension. Sun cap clip was an easy fix - I just replaced the ring - but the strap holder cannot be reattached due to it being riveted together. Wonder if this has happened to anyone else.

And then I tried emailing about it and found out that the email on the website isn't even functional.

Guessing the guy isn't active on here anymore.

I'm very happy with mine. Can't say I use it ALL the time, but it works very well.

I don't include it when I rent my camera out because people forget sometimes to take it off in the sun and it once made a mark in the corner of the screen.

its a button that you have to open to see the monitor..

So it controls a shutter or an iris mechanism? Where is the button. Is it sprung loaded or purely manual?

This will overcome the only limitation with Grid (you need to be very careful outdoors ) other than that it kills other solutions including EVF's IMO.

So more info Nicholas would be great.

its manual... but now the lens is a little bit smaller and also protects better for the sunlight..
