Im in the market for a new gimbal. I have the original Ronin, but I need something a little bit stronger for my Alexa mini. I really like the ronin 2 but I just don't want to spend $8000 on a gimbal. Is there anything else that can hold 20 pounds comfortably, but isn't $8000+ ?

I know some will say Movi Pro, but that system can just barely hold the 15 lbs , anything over that it fails easily.

Jason,

I'm a Movi Pro user and I have managed to get some build some big Alexa Mini Rigs on there. Why don't you look into it with some of the following accessories that would increase the payload:

Ignited Digi tilt offsets - https://www.ignitedigi.com.au/collections/camera-movi-plates/products/movi-pro-tilt-cage-offsets
CineMilled Dovetail - https://cinemilled.com/p/pro-dovetail-for-freefly-movi-pro-gimbal/
CineMilled Counter Weights - https://cinemilled.com/p/counterweight-2-in-for-cinemilled-cws-i/

You could also look at getting the Movi Pro Battery to TB50 adapters from Ignited too, then run DJI TB50 batteries for double run time: https://www.ignitedigi.com.au/collections/camera-movi-plates/products/tb50-battery-to-movi-pro

I've seen a few cheap Movi Pro's going second hand too recently on the forum.

I have exceeded 15 pounds on the Movi Pro almost every time I use it, and I get excellent performance

I use the Tilta Gravity all the time with a heavier payload and it works great. I'm also potentially in the market to sell mine only because I have a lot of clients specifically asking for Movi no matter how much I try to steer them away. PM me if you'd be interested in buying a kit with some extras.

Just to ask it, why do you try to discourage them from using the Movi?

Thanks for this
